Complain, complain, complain it never changes. Always blaming others for our own problems. When will people realize that these problems are first of all internal with the people and with our provincal government. People blame Canada for many things, but Quebec's problem in Quebec.

You're confusing the G8 with the FLQ.

All the bad coup done by FLQ , was done by the Chicken GRC, just like the same relation beetween alqueada and CIA, it is about time you start to see the real facts, not fairy tail fact presented by your credible media.

If and when Quebec separates from our country and takes whatever they have GDP-wise with them along with cash from Ottawa (Sovereignty-association, not complete sovereignty), will the newly formed nation replace Canada in the G8 and place it with economic powerhouses like Japan, Great Britain, France, and the USA? I could see it happening because Quebec is already very economically and along with cash from Ottawa, it would be extremely powerful on the world stage.

Quebec will NOT be a member of the G8. Its economy is just $274.863 billion - 8 times smaller than Britain's and 4 times smaller than Canada's.

Its population is just 7 million. If it was an independent nation it will be a very small nation - slightly smaller than Sweden.

In fact, the whole of Canada may not be a member of the G8 any longer. Spain is soon to overtake it to become the world's 8th biggest economy and Canada will move down to 9th.

Its not based that way. Thats why China isn't a member. Its a group that controls the majority of the worlds wealth, 65% currently, and agree to work togethor for the betterment of the entire group as a whole (in theory). Its also why most policy is G7 matters (excludes Russia who was let in as a gesture of goodwill)

Military occupation by who??

Did you know the best infantry in canada, are from Valcartier?

Did you know that the majority of them, doesnt even speak english?

Did you know half of the infantry in canada, are from quebec?

So i ask again, military occupation by who?

Yep, the Royal 22nd Regiment has a good reputation..............and are in service to the nation of CANADA. I think it is safe to assume most take their oaths seriously.......unless you believe Frenchmen are incapable of upholding their sworn duty...........

They are NOT one half of the Canadian Army......not even close. The most successful recruitment in the Canadian Armed Forces is in the Atlantic Provinces. The French contingent of those recruited in the Atlantic region are Acadians, NOT Quebecois.......and most of the Acadians I've met would happily shoot Quebecois separatists.

Seems we occupied the place quite handily in October 1970. We shouldn't have, but we did with no trouble. BTW, there were French units in Quebec in 1970 that quickly found themselves removed from strategic zones such as armouries, and replaced by English units.

So, to answer your question, occupied by the Armed Forces of Canada, augmented by the federal police force.

Don't walk into a civil war out of sheer stupidity.

I'm sure there's some Quebecois in Afghanistan, n'est pas ?

And did they select 300 Quebecois for duty in Darfur ?

Yeh.

Oddly enough, some military brass has some IQ.

Come a referendum, the entire Royal 22nd will find itself on an extended tour of duty in Afghanistan. They'll keep them there until any chance of trouble passes, or, in the case of trouble, until they can sort out and arrest the seditious members.

They were in Bosnia, I believe, in October 1995.

Logic......a message for you....

TAKE YOUR MEDICATION!

Every time I start out dealing with this idiot in a rational manner, he comes up with some idiotic, paranoid fantasy that could be debunked by a two year old.......

No, they taught us instead how not to be gullible and think without being driven by bias.

Well when the natives get done with Quebec, Quebecers will find the Domonion of Canada has annexed Hull, (we didn't put those office towers there to give away), the Eastern Townships, ( to fulfill our end of the St Lawerance Seaway agreement, says we need to maintain control over the canal as it is inside Canada but owned by Can/US ), and have a wall built down St Laurent Blvd. It's just so funny to here people trying to make themselves like Bosnia Croatia etc. They just don't want to be in the best country in the world. Not the richest or the bombingest but just the plain best. Viva la Canada Libre.

You're somewhat contradicting yourself. Your suggestion strongly implies that Canada's strength as an ecomonic power depends on Quebec. If true, logically Quebec would be fine if we as a whole are not without them.

There is no contradiction. It has nothing to do with strength. It has everything to do with size.

Canada was admitted to the G6 - at the prompting of the US BTW - because it was the seventh largest economy in the world at the time. (And because the Americans wanted another North American country at the table with five European countries.) That's where they got the term "G7" from.

But today, Canada is the 10th or 11th largest economy. With Quebec gone, Canada would fall to something like 14th or 15th. So why would Canada have a seat at the table with the other largest economies in the world when it would no longer be even close to being one?

No, it was based on GDP.

But it is unlikely that the G8 would ever kick a country out, unless it fractured.

And, no, Spain won't be admitted as a member.

China will, though. Then, India.

Herm, there are more than four channels on TV on this side of the pond, you know. And you don't have to pay $150 a year to watch a 19 part series on the history of fungus in Wales!

Actually you might be surprised at the quality of our TV. Although there are (in some places) 5 channels, not counting those who have cable or sattelite (which is probably past 50% now). Those 4 channels (channel 5 is ****) are stacked with excellent programs. British comedy has been and is still the best in the world, and the BBC, although not what it used to be, is an example for broadcasters everywhere.

My major problem with canadian TV is most of it is american, or americanised. Some canadian stuff is great. i'm fond of KITH of course. But I find i'm better off just downloading my entertainment. Cable isnt cheap, and IMO it's worse value than not paying your lisence and getting free TV at home :0)
