I am not switching religions, I am switching denomniations.

And that is an insult to say I have no purpose in life. Yesterday, I had the morning off and I was relaxing from writing up a report on the computer, and flipped through some channels, and I fell on The View and watched a bit of it.

Who are you to judge my life? How dare you.

I was a non-church-goer Christian before, and I realized I needed the church in my life. I went from nothing to something, no switching.

I got to get off this thread, getting angry. Enjoy yourselves

The suggestion was wellintentioned but sadly, the response says it all.

You know nothing of my life.

You have never personally met me.

I said I watched this certain TV show.

You INFER that I have no purpose in my life.

And you then have the nerve to say your comments were well intentioned.

How dare you insult me and infer my life based on a tv show.

Grow up

That was well intentioned? I found your post to him quite condescending, judgemental, and rude. I'm not surprised he read it the same way. Perhaps the wording was off if the intent was wholesome.

Well I suppose we could all be doing something more productive than sitting on the internet asking for advice from strangers couldn't we. Which reminds me, I have a life I have to attend to now. When I come back I think a useful exercize would be to have a look at who is spending how much time on forum discussions and trying to understand where those people appear to be coming from in doing that. Now there's a topic which will raise some eyebrows around here! Maybe we'll have a separate thread just for the topic!

I cause it myself sometimes, but I gotta say something when the topic is replaced by trolling.
My comment was simply meant to get the thread back on track, but if people are comfortable with it as is, I'll leave the thread.

I was just poking fun Gilbert, not trying to lip off, sorry. No need to leave.

shady01, I plan to add you to my ignore list.

You are insulting, immature, condescending, mean, and hurtful.

Not someone I want to hear from.

I expect civility and respect no matter the topic. If you apologize, I forgive easily... but I highly doubt you would admit your error.

generally speaking, I generally think that in general, generally, young people DO tend to be lacking the facts in many matters. BUT I still think that it's rude to discount their views based on their age due to assumptions. phrases like "are you aware that..." or "maybe you would say that if you knew ...." spring to mind

If you took my advice as an insult then I am sorry. It wasn't meant that way I assure you and I really do think that most young people your age should be out getting stoned or getting drunk or getting laid instead of spending a thursday asking for advice from strangers on a talk forum. However, to each his own. Let's not be enemies. o.k? You must admit, this is only a forum where people use different handles as names. It's not as if anyone knows who you really are and that you should be ashamed of your behaviour.

Just a off-topic chat.

The Conservative/Liberal + Religious/Atheist divide is growing, soon this is going to come to a head and get dirty.

Religious/Atheist battle coming? Are you kidding? Godheads have been beating up Humanists without pause for, oh, a couple of thousand years.

It is already dirty, and the only reason you see it as "coming to a head" is that the Humanists are finally starting to call the deists on some of their behaviour. Fighting back should never be confused with aggression.
