Aw, what a terrible bummer, Durka. I'm so sorry. That's not the way it's supposed to be. But in a Christian Discussion thread I feel bound to point this out: it's not and can never be religious belief that'll save her life or ever give her a chance at having a baby, it's modern medical science. Reality trumps religion every time.
A friend of my son's is in exactly the same situation, has a girlfriend who's a wonderfully bright and attractive young woman who's also suffered several rounds of cervical cancer and been told the same things about childbearing by her doctors. The stories are so similar I'm tempted to think I might actually know you in real life, except that you live in Pickering and I'm in Regina. Give that lady a big hug, and if you really love her, stand by her. She needs that.
