Yeah, the MAGA mantra. Oh, so much hatred. Yeah, that's it.
It's okay, people in a cult generally don't know, but you can spot their talking points and rhetoric a mile away.
Yup I am in a cult alright . But at least I’m not a squish and know how to think for myself . Elbows up .

During a White House press briefing on Monday, press secretary Karoline Leavitt also struck a more conciliatory tone, calling Pretti’s death a “tragedy” and appearing to walk back previous comments from adviser Stephen Miller calling the intensive care nurse a “would-be-assassin”.
Democrats’ calls for Kristi Noem to be removed as homeland security secretary continue to increase. In the House, more than three-fourths of the Democratic caucus, including moderate members and those in leadership, have co-sponsored articles of impeachment against Noem.

But some Senate Democrats worry about who could come next if she were to leave.

“I don’t want DHS Secretary Steve Miller,” Sen. Tim Kaine, one of seven Democrats who voted to confirm Noem, said Tuesday. “It’s hard to imagine that there are people worse, but actually there are people worse.”
Trump tasked border czar Tom Homan to take over operations in Minnesota, in what a senior official told Reuters would be a shift to a more “targeted” approach to enforcement.

We have noticed this in people with TDS. I have noticed this even in my wife, who actually believes Obama was a good president.

Maybe your wife is basing her views on the fact that Obama didn't act like a four-year-old every day.

If you talk to a hardcore Liberal or MAGA supporter, the talking points might be different, but they sound the same.

Both are hardcore tribalists who want the other side's voice extinguished.

I wish they'd both shut the fuck up.

I agree with a lot of what Trump says he is doing. We need to minimize unauthorized immigration. We need to cut the debt. The Federal workforce was, and still is, too large. Our armed forces need to be stable and adequately funded.

The problem is that he goes about these tasks with a maximum of cruelty. I've demonstrated before that we can cut the Federal workforce by 20 percent in four years without firing anybody. There's plenty of fat in the budget to cut without harming food and housing for the needy or public education. His style is to cut off people with no chance to prepare or seek alternatives, and present this to the MAGAhats (many, possibly most, of whom are stunned to find that what is being cut is THEIR benefits, that they had previously thought of as things they were entitled to as a matter of right).

We will see over the next decade or two what the effects are of provoking hostility and enmity between the political sides.

"Let's get out there and KILL 'em!" is a great motivational howl in football or hockey, but not when you're dealing with people who take it literally. And carry guns.

Homan's public remarks - his first since Trump dispatched him to the city on Monday in response to the national outcry - suggested a continued effort to de-escalate from the administration, which has been under intensifying political pressure after two U.S. citizens were shot dead by federal agents.

The directive, reviewed by Reuters late on Wednesday, also orders ICE officers to only target immigrants who have records of criminal charges or convictions, a departure from earlier tactics that included randomly stopping people on the street to demand documented proof of legal U.S. residence or citizenship.

Echoing that directive, Homan said agents would prioritize those who pose a threat to public safety or national security, though he was careful to emphasize that the Trump administration remains committed to deporting any and all immigrants living in the country illegally.

"We're not surrendering our mission at all, we're just doing it smarter," he said.

Trump doesn’t seem to realize that sometimes you win when both sides win. He doesn’t seem to get that. The other side doesn’t have to be utterly devastated and crushed in order for him to win.
Trump's fundamental orientation is that only one side can win. To him, "loser" doesn't mean someone who lost. It means someone fundamentally and incurably inferior. That's why he always cries foul when he loses.

Sure, glad he wasn’t president of the US right after World War II with the rebuilding of Europe. The Marshall plan would never have happened…& everybody won because of that one. Oh well…

I have met some union negotiators that work on much the same principle. Including one that thought it was better for a mill to go bankrupt than everyone take a smaller raise. Still have not figured the logic in that, except he gets paid regardless. At least until there are no more dues paying members.

This is mostly why he was elected in the first place, and why many Canadians supported him. Especially about getting rid of illegals and bringing blue collar jobs back. And getting rid of the idiotic environmental laws that are not based on facts. Carbon scam taxes and carbon scam carbon credits only raise prices and make certain insiders rich without improving the environment.
