Blue Heron sighting

Had one standing along the shoreline this morning possibly looking for some food as the wind was blowing in. Not the first time seeing them over the years but usually only once or twice per year. Beautiful bird with big wings.

Just looked up top speed of a Blue heron is 35 mph. Canada Geese are capable of 70 mph.

There is a rookery in Tsawwassen at the start of the B.C. Ferries causeway . You can see hundreds of mating pairs and offspring driving by .
