I was of the understanding that only male grizzlies swam across to the island . That looks like a female with cubs .

Yeah, well, it was your understanding that only males could change their oil, do calculus, pilot a fighter, or look faaaaabulous in a cheeky little chiffon number, too.

Yes you are a genius (of some sort)
What kind of shit responce is that ? Tell me why grizzlies don’t populate the island ? You won’t find any on Haida Quai either . The swimming statement was just something I have read , and did not profess to be an expert .

Apparently grizzley bears occasionally swim over from the central coast but do not live year round . Most sightings are between Campbell River and Port Hardy . I could find nothing regarding females . If there is a living to be made ( elk deer salmon ) why no native population ?

When I moved to the Island, almost 50 years ago it was claimed there were no griz on the island. Indeed, when the first one was seen near Pt. Hardy, the game warden told the natives that reported it that they were drunk and hung up. So they shot it as proof. A couple of years later another one was shot across the Salmon River from our place in Sayward. Now, some natives I know in Ukie say there have always been griz high in the Beauforts. The same people also claim sasquach live there.

The abject idiocy you post here is so pathetic it's not even funny.

And exactly where is this 'Haida Quai' place anyway?

Never made a spelling error ? Don’t be so daft as to pretend not to know what I meant Haida Gwai .
Tell me what I said that is wrong ? Why do the bears not habituate the island year round ?
