Because the EU and the Euro curency have destroyed the Greek economy and, despite the EU and the Euro causing it, the EU has imposed harsh austerity measures onto Greece, hence the anti-German and anti-EU marches we've seen over the last few years in Greece.
Similarly, the EU foisted an unelected, autocratic, government onto Italy.
That's why the EU is so unpopular in those two countries and why many believe they'll follow Britain through the exit door.
Both countries, like Britain, will be far better off out.
