The U.S.A. has it down pat with their massive military spending that stimulates and subsidizes all sorts of economic sectors. They can call it something else, too and confuse our Canadian Hillbillies all to hell with things like: "The Americans don't subsidize Boeing the way we subsidize Bombardier."
Nice shell game. The sub-normals are all bamboozled by it.
For certain sure. I've always said that if you want America to be a paradise, put the Marines in charge of housing, the Navy in charge of health care, the Air Force in charge of education, and the Army in charge of infrastructure. No project would ever want for funding again.

Maybe, that's what you'll get when Trump declares the coming Democrat Presidential win the the illegal product of a deep state plot and declare the result to be null and void.

Who's going to protect your Constitution, then?

The USA's first military coup ...

I think you have a pretty distorted view. I expect that if Donny Dodger voids the election, they'll let him sit there until noon on 20 Jan, 2021, then the Marines'll frog-march him out.

He'll finally get his Marine Guard march past on the Mall.

What would it cost to clean up Alberta’s oilpatch? $260 billion, a top official warns
Most of the big oil companies are getting out while the getting is good. They sure as hell ain't gonna clean it up.
THE TWILIGHT ZONE THEME

Imagine if you will that it was all planned to be that way from the start. Canada would be the first place they have been when they didn't leave as big a mess behind as possible.

Try selling AB Tar Sand as 'poor man's asphalt' and see how unwelcome a business that brings in many billions with next to nothing in development costs beyond a few heavy rail lines. (going west rather than south would be better for the locals)

Husky Energy layoffs underway in downtown Calgary

CALGARY — Dozens of Husky Energy workers streamed out of the company’s downtown Calgary location Tuesday morning carrying envelopes and paperwork signalling they’ve been laid off.
Several workers, who did not want to be identified, confirmed the company had informed some of its workers it was making staffing reductions. Some contract workers were informed of the changes Monday evening, they said.
Some people who were let go were escorted into cabs waiting outside of the company’s headquarters on Eighth Avenue S.W.
Several people leaving the building said they believed "hundreds" of employees are affected and many knew the layoffs were coming.
"There was a bit of a slip-up a week ago where they booked off a bunch of meeting rooms, so we all kind of knew it was coming," said Cory St. Croix outside the Husky Building Tuesday afternoon.
"Some of us prepared and cleaned out the office on the weekend, getting ready for it, just in case."
In a statement, Husky Energy confirmed the layoffs but said the company "will not be sharing the number of jobs affected."
"Husky has been taking steps to better align the organization and workforce with our capital plan and strategy," read the statement.
"These changes put Husky in the best position to achieve its goals. This was about changing the way we approach our business, the way we make decisions and the way we work together to meet our goals."

For me I'd seriously consider a party that promotes rail (especially high speed), infrastructure upgrades, producing our own goods and selling the 'extras' out to the world, using our own resources first, and streamlining health care by asking those in it how to do so.

And also being not dicks to people who aren't white, straight religious types.

What I find disturbing is that Quebec calls themselves a Sovereign country while still largely involved in Canada's Parliament and obtaining all kinds of transfer payments and tax breaks from the Canadian government courtesy of all the tax payers. I wonder if Alberta, Saskatchewan, & B.C. decided to call themselves The Sovereign West would we get as much help and sympathy such as Quebec has over the many, many years.

What country could possibly benefit more from high-speed rail than Canada? Plenty of room, flat as a griddle, and with a powerful rail tradition. I love the image of passenger and freight trains thundering across the prairie at 1000 kph.

Nope. The first bigoted asshole gets a certain amount of sympathy. The second bigoted asshole is just a bigoted asshole.
