The Senate has gone 1,175 days without passing a budget. Taxmageddon and sequestration are threatening the economic livelihood of millions of Americans. And yet the top order of business for Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-NV) this week is the DISCLOSE Act, a blatant attempt by liberals to circumvent and restrict the First Amendment.

Senate Democrats even staged a “midnight vigil” last night to promote their cause. That’s when the follies starting flying. New York Sen. Chuck Schumer, the No. 3 Democrat, had the biggest whopper of the evening when he called for “limits on First Amendment rights” during his Senate speech. (Full transcript below the video.)

Schumer wants the Unions to be able to spend all that they want (they almost always support Democrats), but wants to shut off spending by business and wealthy people.

Such a law would never be held to be Constitutional by the Supreme Court. He knows this, it is just his ultra-leftist way, and his means of getting more funding from his corrupt Union pals.

And Harry Reid will be out as Senate Majority Leader come January, so what HE thinks is immaterial. Even if he was successful in getting such a bill through the Senate, it would die in the House and he knows it.

What he doesn't seem to realize is that this would also bring out a LOT more votes against the 30 Democrats that are trying to hold their Senate seats. If he wants to guarantee that he is out of a job come January, keep up this crap.
