The anti-terror laws proposed by the Howard government, have brought in their wake the civil libertarians' nightmares that these laws will destroy civil liberties, freedom of speech and assembly, and eventually and irreparably erode the values of our democratic state.

The nightmarish shadow of ASIO (Australian Secret Intelligence Organization) and its spooks will forebodingly spread and pervade all parts of our society, and no institution or person will be safe from the horrid intrusions of its ghostly agents. Hence, according to the libertarians' "apparitional" thinking...

If the recent terrorism mischief is a bi-product of unchecked multiculturalism then the leading proponents of same need to be hauled before an inquiry and the nonsense investigated. Why should any people lose its basic liberties because an aggressive minority in it insisted its policies be followed?

Because terrorist bombs don't make a distinction between ''an aggressive minority" and a passive majority. But I entirely agree with your implication, that multiculturalism is an unmitigated disaster.
