You've got to hand it to Russia, they're national anthem is as good as it gets.

The 2-1 Russian victory was epic to say the very least. While it appeared Canada much more puck control, their shots (most of which were genuinely good ones) were stopped by the MVP goalie Kochetkov. Lots of physicality during the match but it was skill play that won it for the Russians.

Awesome game.

I don't always agree with Don, spam..........and this is one of those times.

The Swiss kids ruled the ice today. They played with heart, determination and lots of skill. In doing so, they shut-out Sweden in the quarterfinal winning 2 zip. Their young goal-tender stood on his head. Well done Switzerland.

The Swiss anthem sounded like a low key version of 'Happy Birthday'. That is not acceptable in the world of hockey..

I have no faith in Di Pietro. He's short to begin with but plays the game on his knees. The top of the net is open all day.

Canada could win this game and more but this is the slowest and least skilled Team Canada I've ever seen.

Darn ~ sorry I missed the game as I attended a youth hockey triple header as my neighborhood club had three teams playing today. We tied the first game (age 14), lost the second by a wide margin (age 14 B squad), but won the third(age 16). Tomorrow - at least a double header is scheduled but a third one may be played as well.

Glad I have all these options to watch puck but hate to miss anything.

The sun rose this morning. The world did not come to an end. Yeah our kids lost out on a medal - of any color - but life goes on. I do feel for the kids but I also agree with Duthie that this is not such a bad thing for World Junior Hockey as a whole. With more teams rising in the competition - take the Swiss for example - it makes for better hockey and a better competition.

it did. at least until the next hockey Canada tourney. ;)
I was just reading an article about all the online hate Maxime Comtois - captain of Team Canada - got after the loss, spam. It sickens me that people would be so shallow and so filled with hate that they would attack a kid because he missed a penalty shot. As if Maxime didn't feel bad enough about the loss, he now is faced with strangers calling him all kinds of names because of a hockey game. I love the IIHF - especially the Juniors. I love it when they win but I support them when they lose because that's what a sane person should do. It is because of this type of ignorant online bullying that I have drawn back from commenting on many issues. I am tired of the hate, the name-calling, the bickering and the anti-social comment made by people with too much time on their hands and no ability to reign in their bile.
