Communism is a system for the people, not for just the wealthy like capitalism.

If you care about humanity's survival you can not think Capitalism is the solution, even if you think Communism is not the answer also.

Communism failed everywhere. People are starving in North Korea unless they are the elite.

Maybe it is time to create a new system .....something that has people as its primary focus , is democratic ........perhaps a blend of the best of what current systems offer..Most current systems do have some positive attributes........so just extract them and combine them into something innovative.. Something that will encourage unity as posed to divisiveness.... and yet foster healthy debate. & independent thinking...where the underlying principles are based on humanitarianism. Where health care and education are available to everyone. An unhealthy or /and under educated population is a nations liability.Something grounded in reality ....yet forward thinking. Something where instant gratification does not rule. Seasoned wisdom does.

That sounds like a call to arms for liberals to put on our thinking caps. Don't let the right decide how everything should be (And fret about how they are going to get their hired security to stay on duty during the coming dystopia). Great post.

communism succeeded everywhere moron.

they don't get the CIA to shut down failing ideologies you stupid ****.
Communist countries failed because their people were poor and unhappy. That is why the communist leaders did not allow decent.

Looks like the world has changed and our close allies forgot to tell Canada things are different. Certainly the europeans have chilled after Putin's aggression where Trump is like a labrador retriever with him. Not how it used to be. Diplomacy is being redone everywhere. Strongman states and the corrupt are pushing back and testing the world's boundaries. I wonder if they are all calling each other. Thanks to the US for stepping away from world leaderdership.

Previous collapses in diplonacy like this resulted in World Wars.

I know. That is the worry when the US is weak on humanity and corruption.

The US is just plain getting weaker. This is an empire coming the end of it's natural life span and the powers that will and are filling the vacuum are truly chilling. ...China, Russia, Iran ...

The US is deep with talent. My niece is amazed at how bright the americans she has met in Washington are (she is working there this summer). The US will bounce back from this. They have to.

The hillbillies are in control, right now as they cyclically are.

It sounds as if the Brits are calming the Saudis down and that not much of anything will happen.

It should be a wake-up call for us to finish a system of Canadian supplied oil coast-to-coast.

If the World had paid attention, they would have noticed that the Saudi Prince is a swaggering arrogant tosser who is capricious and unstable and MAYBE people like that are not the best choice as allies. Lunatics like Trump could care less but some of the smarter people around him might be alarmed at the outburst.

Seems that it depends on what part of the US one is talking about. One side of my family lives state side. They are scattered. The ones in S.Carolina are as different as can be from the ones in Nebraska and seams with the one sin Texas and California. US population is much larger than CDA too.....Certain area draw certain intellectual prowess..

Interesting discourse with no winner evident in this [alt]left vs right tug of war. To my way of thinking left right means diddly transnational mega corps write the script for political position holders to follow n' big business luv the rothchilds formula that has worked ever so well for them. Conservative estimates state 1% of us own at least half of the worlds wealth, call it what you wish but little people are not part of the equation.
Where justyn found the faux courage to chide money bag saudis escapes me.

My niece is pretty smart. She told my sister that the Americans and others she had met in politics or non profits were just amazing people and very capable. Most of them in their 20s. For sure Washington would attract the best of the best, those interested in public service, and from the whole world. There is hope. The bench is deep. We need to hold onto that.

What is the Rothchild thing? Oh and you can have nothing and be a somebody. You can have everything and be a big nothing. Your metrics are off.

Agree about the wake up call. Same for lessons to be learned.
I still think that stating policy positions on Twitter is foolhardy. Social media has its place........but .... not in the way it was used here. (IMHO) Given the state of things at the moment.......DISCRETION seems imperative.
seasoned advisers should be used as consultants to prevent such gaffs.
