From the article:

White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders appeared to challenge the existing regulations on Tuesday, telling reporters that Trump “certainly believes he has the power” to fire Mueller, though he isn’t taking that step now.

trump 'certzainly believes he has the power'...so does that imply that trump might go rogue and do whatever he says he wants to do?

He still believes that he is some sort of a monarch. He missed the class where they talked about the responsibility of Presidents to their Republic back at NYMA. Maybe, he was in the infirmary, nursing his torturous case of bone spurs.

not monarch. CEO. He believes himself the CEO of the USA. With that he feels that he should have the right to fire as he sees fit, at least according to what huckabee is suggesting...

It's over. After a year of Spanky in power, the many layers and divisions of the U.S. government have learned to ignore him, and get on with the job of running the country. Except, of course, for the pansy Republiklans in Congress.

He will do some damage, that being his goal, but he'll be gone and forgotten sooner than Carter.

for sure. But given the volatility he's provided with the markets and with the number of network contacts he has, you don't think somewhere there he isn't pulling a martha stewart?

Nope. I think he's too clueless, oblivious, and frankly, stupid. To his credit, his grifter nature and carnival barker schtick has taken him to undreampt-of heights. But the Peter Principle has now bitten, and it cannot be escaped.

I think that Paul Ryan's resignation today is as telling as Cohen's raids. There are lots of "maybes" around him. If he still has Presidential aspirations, he will want to distance himself from the looming shitstorm as fast and far as he can row. Perhaps, he's worried about losing his seat. Perhaps Trump was sending him dead crows.

The midterms are shaping up to be a disaster for the republicans. That's why they are jumping ship in record numbers.
