Possibly one of the most advanced governments in the Americas at the time of European contact.

Really? Is this something new for you? CDNBear has mentioned this over and over again over the last 10 years on here. TB has already mentioned that North American indigenous cultures have ran the full gambit on government forms, From the above to despot rulers. No different than Europe.

True. I thought a thread that could explore it in depth could be interesting. The Great Law of Peace influenced the US Constitution. I'm well aware that some of the more educated in these forums know this already, but it shocks me that some seem to still deny that the indigenous peoples contributed anything to our society.

kayaks and bannock were the least of their contributions. The Great law of Peace fundamentally influenced the very structure of the US Constitution itself.

Like a ball-sack or tits being used as tobacco pouches?? That was the Europeans.

If the EU motherland is in constant turmoil how can any of their bastard children be anything but a mirror of that deprivation.

What makes graveyards sacred in both cultures? Bit creepy that the only thing they have in common is fear/respect for the dead that surpasses the care they have for people not yet dead.
One other thing you will find they have in common is that all believe in a day of judgment where men are powerless to stop it from happening.

Well there was nothing to learn from the great law of peace.
Words alone mean nothing.
Not fighting to the last man might be the only lesson the Indians have learned as no parent would allow what happened to their children happen.
