I have no doubt that everything you guys are saying is true. But I have a hard time separating the legitimate grievances with the self entitled baby bastardz that exist in every demographic of Canada including vetearns.
I know a guy who injured himself on canadIan base while driving a snowplow and he expects a pension better than an actively employed oil rig worker. Surely you guys must think that is unreasonable, no?
I've been through this process. I was a veteran advocate for the better part of six years.
First of all, let's dispel a myth. You can't get a medical pension better than an actively oil rig worker. In fact, the pension act was amended after outgoing Prime Minister changed the pension act to lump sum payouts. The guy you know, was he in the military, because if he was injured on duty he should be able to have access to disability.
You have to keep in mind that a soldier who gets hurt is not entitled to workers compensation like a civilian. Whether on the battlefield or in peacetime they are on duty 24/7, ready to go.
