In this case it wasn't his duty AND it was inappropriate. If it fell upon anyone as a duty it would be the speaker and only then to call security. No elected member has any duty or right to physically make contact with another unless invited as in a handshake or a hug. Pushing, shoving and pulling are all assault.

Members of the New Democratic Party caucus were clearly physically preventing a member of the Conservative Party from passing. The footage makes it clear that this physical barricading was intentional and mischievous, and several MPs have substantiated that this was the case; it was an immature and irresponsible attempt by the House's third-place party to disrupt the proceedings of the House, and the entire kerfuffle would have been avoided had the NDP given the House the respect that it deserves as a democratic institution.
One more reference to my sexual orientation as a part of this debate, and we're going to have a problem. This is the third time this week that you have made comments about my sexual orientation, or made crude sexual references about me, and it is not going to continue.

For the Chief Government Whip to be responsible for coordinating the Government's votes with such a substantial majority, and to then oversee the vote on Bill C-10 land at a 139-to-139 vote, is unfathomable. The Government should not be depending upon the casting vote of the Speaker when they have a majority of 15. For that vote alone, the whip should be turfed.

I don't see much difference between what Trudeau did and the ndp did. IMO, the ndp do not deserve a pass on this one. I find it hypocritical to make a big deal about one and not the other. If I had my way,the heat would still be on Trudeau but would also be on the people that were deliberately blocking the conservative whip. What a childish bully thing to do.
Based on the Poll results the NDP suffered the most from this even though the Cons called it a 'molestation' and not an assault.......
