At the time of writing, through whom and to whom is the content of the Old Testament addressed?
As I understand it, through Moses, the judges and leaders of Israel, and the prophets. Addressed to God's people, which would be Israel, but also all others who chose to believe.

I can't speak to this in a way that doesn't sound...mean. I don't believe there is a god or any gods that rule over this planet or any planet.

Then in your mind Chaos is God even while the you is proof of the reign of Order.

So I'll put it down that " faith is the substance for things hoped for, the evidence of things unseen'. Don't really need to add to that. I think it's a good saying

That's beautiful.

Then in your mind Chaos is God even while the you is proof of the reign of Order.

then I am my own god. My mind is not chaos. It is curious for truth, not lies meant to make me feel safe with false control over my life. Death is my end, and not my greatest fear. But fear is there, that I acknowledge. I don't need a lie to make me "less" afraid.

I think your god is Lucifer or Satan.
And all the same whether you are atheist or not; you are a disbeliever.

Quran 4: 140, which means:
{God will gather the hypocrites and the disbelievers all in Hell [on the Judgment Day.]}
Here's a quote Selfie, responding to your statement. I'll give you a little of your own medicine. you can look up the chapter and verse in Isaiah. Woe to them who put light for darkness and darkness for light. Woe to them who put good for evil and evil for good. And woe to them that are wise in their own eyes and prudent in their own sight. This is you to a T selfster. :).

I wonder if Christian Atheism is a sign that organized religion is evolving. Much of religion is rooted so firmly in tradition and history that a growing chasm between the church and regular folk is resulting in people simply walking away from it. If we trade in the traditional concept of God as a conscious controlling entity for a more ethereal, passive force then religion can reconcile with science to the point where human believability is not stretched past the breaking point.

This would certainly take care of the issues that absolute faith has created in some areas.

Christian atheism is a sign that atheism is living out the worldview it decries/denies.

Israel or Abraham's children as identified by Jesus in the New Testament, TB.

What do you think about the mind versus the brain?

Israel or Abraham's children as identified by Jesus in the New Testament, TB.

"Produce fruit in keeping with repentance. And do not begin to say to yourselves, ‘We have Abraham as our father.’ For I tell you that out of these stones God can raise up children for Abraham." (Luke 3:8 NIV)

"For not all who are descended from Israel are Israel. Nor because they are his descendants are they all Abraham’s children. On the contrary, 'It is through Isaac that your offspring will be reckoned.' In other words, it is not the children by physical descent who are God’s children, but it is the children of the promise who are regarded as Abraham’s offspring." (Romans 9:6-8 NIV)

No thoughts of your own?? It means that Gentiles are the ones being gathered in the verse below. (that should be explained to you as you would not be able to figure it out on your own) The rest of the Gentiles have to wait for the new earth to get their 'reward'.

Zec:13:9:
And I will bring the third part through the fire,
and will refine them as silver is refined,
and will try them as gold is tried:
they shall call on my name,
and I will hear them:
I will say,
It is my people:
and they shall say,
The LORD is my God.

Isa:65:21-24:
And they shall build houses,
and inhabit them;
and they shall plant vineyards,
and eat the fruit of them.
They shall not build,
and another inhabit;
they shall not plant,
and another eat:
for as the days of a tree are the days of my people,
and mine elect shall long enjoy the work of their hands.
They shall not labour in vain,
nor bring forth for trouble;
for they are the seed of the blessed of the LORD,
and their offspring with them.
And it shall come to pass,
that before they call,
I will answer;
and while they are yet speaking,

"Israel or Abraham's children as identified by Jesus in the New Testament", LL. Having made this personal statement earlier in the discussion, I then supported this statement with Scripture.

Personally I've never really been able to see the Bible as anything but a book. A good book mind you, but not without its faults and after all is said and done it is just a book penned by human hand. The whole "Word of God" thing has really been blown out of context. If we are all children of God then doesn't he speak through all of us?

There's a lot to be said for the mental/emotional state of anyone when it comes to just how clearly God can speak through them or to them. Metaphorically speaking of course.

The book is literally the word of God. Men could not include this verse unless they could see as far as Re:22 goes. Nor will you understand very much after reading it like a novel, it is a book that needs to be studied, that quality also means men could not have written it without some serious help.

Isa:42:9:
Behold,
the former things are come to pass,
and new things do I declare:
before they spring forth I tell you of them.

If we are all children of God then doesn't he speak through all of us?

Because he has decided to punish us for eternity because adam and eve ate a fruit of a tree. Basically he's super pissed that we wanted to be smart. At least that's what I've gathered from the story when viewed as a parable.

If viewed as fact, then we're talking extreme stupidity by believers..
