Cool. Nothing like watching a bit of muddy rugger on a Saturday.

I keep meaning to go down wnd watch my town's club, Bolton R.U.F.C. play at their Avenue Street stadium, but I always keep forgetting.

The rugby union club play in North 1 West, the sixth-tier of the English rugby union pyramid. Hopefully they'll make it to the Premership eventually.

Challenge Cup semi-final: Warrington Wolves vs Hull Kingston Rovers

VS

Mark Chapman presents live coverage of the Challenge Cup semi-final between Warrington Wolves and Hull KR from Headingley in Leeds. Eight-time winners Warrington are in the final four for the sixth time in seven years, having beaten Championship high-flyers Leigh Centurions in the last round. Hull KR, whose solitary Challenge Cup success came in 1980, booked their place in the semi-finals by beating Catalans Dragons.

The winners will face the might of Leeds Rhinos - the twelve-time winners - in the final at Wembley Stadium on 29 August.

Also yesterday was the SSE Women's FA Cup Final between West Londoners Chelsea Ladies and Nottingham side Notts County Ladies.

The Notts County men's side are the world's oldest professional football club, whereas the women's side was only formed in 2014 when the club relocated from Lincoln.

Chelsea Ladies, meanwhile, were formed in 1992 and their Wheatsheaf Park stadium has a capacity of just 3,002, compared to the
41,798 capacity of Stamford Bridge, the home of their male counterparts.

The women's game has a long way to go in Britain until it gets anywhere the huge popularity of the men's game (just 2 million people in Britain watched England Women in the World Cup semi-final against Japan earlier this summer).

Women's FA Cup Final: Chelsea v Notts County

Jacqui Oatley presents live coverage from Wembley of the SSE Women's FA Cup final between Chelsea Ladies and Notts County Ladies.

It's the first time the showpiece event in the domestic women's football calendar has been played at the home of football and the first time it has been broadcast live on the BBC, and a number of England's World Cup stars will be on show.

Chelsea's squad includes England stars Katie Chapman, Eniola Aluko and Claire Rafferty, while Laura Bassett, Alex Greenwood and Ellen White are among the World Cup bronze medallists who could feature for Notts County.

With both clubs aiming to lift the trophy for the first time, this promises to be another landmark event in the growth of women's football in England.

Re-watched "Men With Brooms" last night. Still damn funny.

Trigger's Broom

(Classic scene from a 1996 episode of Only Fools and Horses, Britain's most-watched sitcom of all time. Much better than that rubbish American "comedy")

Goodnight Sweetheart

A very British time travel sitcom, starring Nicholas Lyndhurst (best known for playing Rodney Trotter in Only Fools and Horses) as Gary Sparrow, a somewhat disillusioned TV repairman, in a drab marriage with his ambitious wife Yvonne, and best friends with Ron, a printer whose marriage is on the brink of breakdown.

While on a TV repair call-out in East London, Gary accidentally discovers a time portal which leads to war-time London, the Blitz and rationing. There he meets Phoebe, a pretty barmaid who works in the Royal Oak pub and Reg Deadman, a dim-witted but friendly policeman.

Gary strikes up a friendship with Phoebe (who has a husband who is away doing his bit for King and Country), and makes repeated trips through the time portal, gradually establishing a second life for himself in the 1940s, with neither Yvonne nor Phoebe knowing he is a time traveller who also has another life with the other woman......

Here are the first two episodes, from 1993:

Episode 1

Rites of Passage

After being called out on a television repair, Gary Sparrow stumbles down an East London alleyway called Duckett's Passage and unknowingly finds himself in war-torn London. There he meets Police Constable Deadman, Royal Oak bar owner Eric, and Eric's young married daughter Phoebe.

Watch it here: Goodnight Sweetheart - 1x01 - Rites Of Passage

Episode 2

Fools Rush In

Gary buys some 1940s clothes to look the part in the past. When he returns there, he takes Phoebe dancing – and has an unexpected encounter with Phoebe's husband.

The First Georgians: The German Kings Who Made Britain

Episode 1

Originally broadcast in 2014, the year Britain marked 300 years since the Hanoverian accession, but broadcast again last night.

In 1714, to prevent the crown falling into the hands of a Catholic, Britain shipped in a ready-made royal family from the small German state of Hanover - George I, the "Turnip King".

To understand this risky experiment, presenter Dr Lucy Worsley has been given access to treasures from the Royal Collection as they are prepared for a new exhibition at the Queen's Gallery, Buckingham Palace - providing a rare and personal insight into George I and his feuding dynasty.

The Hanoverians arrived at a moment when Britain was changing fast. Satirists were free to mock the powerful, including the new royals. The Hanoverians themselves were busy early adopters of Neo-Palladian architecture, defining the whole look of the Georgian era. When the French philosopher Voltaire visited, he found a 'land of liberty' unlike anything in Europe - Britain was embracing freedom of speech and modern cabinet government.

Earth's Natural Wonders: Living on the Edge

1. Extreme Wonders

A sherpa on Everest, one of planet Earth's natural wonders

Across our planet, there are a handful of places that truly astonish, like Mount Everest, the Grand Canyon and Victoria Falls. These wonders seem to have little in common other than - literally - taking your breath away. But they share one other thing: they pose extraordinary challenges for their inhabitants.

This landmark series combines stunning photography and compelling human drama as it reveals twelve remarkable places. And it uncovers the stories of people fighting to survive - and even triumph - in Earth's natural wonders.

In Tanzania, in the shadow of mighty Mount Kilimanjaro, the tallest free-standing mountain on Earth, Maasai farmer and warrior Richard must stop elephants from raiding the village crops, without harming them

Tribal elders in the Amazon with gloves used in the painful bullet ant ceremony. Bullet ants may have the most painful sting of any insect - it's supposed to feel like being shot - and to prove themselves, young boys wear mitts containing hundreds of the ants

Atlantic: The Wildest Ocean on Earth

Episode 2: Mountains of the Deep

In the vast South Atlantic, huge pods of dolphins, massive penguin colonies and the largest gathering of marine wildlife on earth pack chains of extraordinary islands, created by powerful volcanic forces far below them. Nutrient-rich upwellings create profusions of life in some areas, whilst extreme isolation and abyssal depths host a world of bizarre creatures in others.

The programme visits three British Overseas Territories: Saint Helena, Ascension and Tristan da Cunha (more specifically, the volcanic island of Ascension); South Georgia and the South Sandwich Islands; and the Fakland Islands.

South Georgia and the South Sandwich Islands is the site of the largest concentration of marine wildlife on the planet

Football League Tonight

The BBC has lost the rights to the Football League to Channel 5, which means the highlights from the Football League - the Championship, League One and League Two, comprising 72 teams - are now no longer shown on The Football League Show on BBC One on Saturday nights but on a brand new show on Channel 5 - Football League Tonight.

Kelly Cates and George Riley introduce highlights of all the day's games in the three divisions of the Sky Bet Football League, and there's up-to-the-minute reaction to major talking points from special guests, the studio audience and viewers at home.

Football League Tonight will feature extended coverage of the weekend’s best Sky Bet Football League matches and will include every single goal from all three divisions.

Players, managers and fans will be joining Kelly and George in the studio each week and the viewers can also get involved on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.

Still travelling back from Saurday’s game? Not to worry; Football League tonight will also be available on Demand 5.

And if all that isn’t exciting enough, we’ll also be bringing you all the Football League action when the Championship clubs are away on international duty, so fans in League One and League Two will never have to miss a goal all season.

On tonight's show, Championship second-favourites Wolves travel to Ewood Park to take on Blackburn Rovers, whilst last season's Football League top scorers, MK Dons, start their life as the newly-promoted new boys in the division by taking on Rotherham United at New York Stadium.

In League One, Wigan Athletic, relegated from the Championship last season, start life in English football's third tier by facing Coventry City at the Ricoh Arena whilst, in League Two, Newport County, under their new manager, former England star Terry Butcher, travel east to the Abbey Stadium to take on Cambridge United.

Escape to the Wild

Series 1

Episode 3

Kevin McCloud, best known for presenting the TV series Grand Designs, which features unusual and often elaborate architectural homebuilding projects, travels to remote corners of the world to meet Britons who have relocated to the most surprising and unlikely places in pursuit of a pared down existence.

In this episode he travels to Belize, a tiny, English-speaking country which has Queen Elizabeth II as its Head of State and which gained its independence from Britain in 1981, to meet the remarkable Atkinson family.

The couple and their three children live in a home they have built themselves in the middle of the Belizean jungle on their own plot of land. Living without money - although the nearest shop is a two-hour round-trip away - the family grow their own plants and keep their own animals.

The couple's young son has just fleeting memories of his time in the UK before they left for Belize - he still finds it very strange to see pictures of cities with tall buildings and neon lights - and his two younger sisters, despite speaking impeccable Queen's English, have almost no knowledge whatsoever of life in their family's native land.

Kevin is also left blown away by the remarkable building the family are constructing for themselves on another part of their land - a beautiful structure they are erecting despite having no building qualifications at all and using tips they have procured from the internet.

Wonders of the Universe

Falling

"As the neutron star spins, jets of particles stream out from the poles at almost the speed of light.

These jets are powerful beams that sweep around as the star rotates.

When the beams sweep across the Earth, they can be heard as regular pulses, so we call them pulsars.

But it's not this rhythmic noise that makes the Crab Pulsar a wonder.

It's the extraordinary nature of gravity on this alien world.

If I were to be on its surface, then the gravitational pull on me would be a hundred thousand million times that that I feel on Earth.

That means that if I were to jump from the top of that projection screen, by the time I hit the ground, I'd be travelling at over four million miles an hour.

That's a lot of gravity."

University of Manchester physicist and former D:Ream keyboardist Professor Brian Cox in his acclaimed 2011 BBC science documentary series Wonders of the Universe, which follows on from 2010's Wonders of the Solar System.

In this episode, Professor Brian Cox explores how gravity influences events across the universe, discovering why such a relatively weak force dictates Earth's orbit around the Sun - as well as the solar system's movement through the galaxy. He also explains why the gravity of a neutron star is much stronger than that of Earth, and looks back through history to reveal why scientists' research into the power of attraction has given mankind a far greater understanding of the cosmos.

He experiences zero gravity on a "vomit comet" and experiences too much of it on a centrifuge!

Brian uses out a centrifuge to demonstrate what gravity on certain other planets would do to him should he be on their surfaces

Celebrity Fifteen To One

Fifteen To One, hosted by Sandi Toksvig - and its celebrity special Celebrity Fifteen To One, hosted by Adam Hills - is a Channel 4 quiz renowned for being one of the toughest quizzes on television. Fifteen contestants start, but only one will win.

Round One begins with each of the fifteen contestants being asked a question. They each then get asked another question. If they get the first question wrong they lose one of their three lives and if they get the second question wrong they lose their remaining TWO lives and are automatically eliminated (in Round Two, however, the remaining two lives of each contestant can only be lost by them getting two questions wrong, one for each life, as normal).

All those players who survive Round One then play in Round Two, which is something of a mental duel. in Round Two, a player is asked a question. If they get it wrong they lose a life. If they get it right they nominate whoever they want to answer the next question. If that nominated person gets it right they become the new nominator but if they get it wrong the nominator gets to choose somebody else to answer a question. This keeps going until all but three of the contestants lose their remaining lives and get knocked out of the game. Round 2 has no fixed duration or number of questions; it varies depending on how many players survived from Round One and how well they performed. It could, in theory, continue indefinitely if no wrong answers are given throughout, consequently exhausting all questions available!

Those three remaining players then play each other in an often dramatic final.

In this recent episode of Celebrity Fifteen To One, contestants include Sky News presenter Kay Burley, comedian Sean Lock, Blur bassist and cheesemaker Alex James, former Goodie and former Springwatch/Autumnwatch presenter Bill Oddie and Spandau Ballet vocalist Tony Hadley. Presented by Australian comedian Adam Hills.
