That is miserable. Death toll is now over 1400. I wonder how many
people might have been saved if their houses hadn't fallen on them.

The SMS said, “Shake it off like this Earthquake: Get any Vincent Chase Sunglasses upto Rs. 3000 for FLAT Rs. 500, by sending invites to 50 friends


Meanwhile, another similar promotional SMS was sent by American Swan at 4:48 pm today. The brand seemed really excited to introduce their “Earth Shattering offer” to consumers.

What is sad about this earthquake is that these poor countries can't afford to build proper houses that are more earthquake resistant..

In short it's always the poorest people who are the victims, yet there are individuals with billions of dollars to their name. Humanity is screwed.



Also the lost culture and buildings destroyed.. so very sad.

That is because the Gov has more people working for it to take care of fewer poor people. There could be no poor people if they fired most of the Gov workers as most people can usually tell what time of day they should eat all by themselves.

we don't have a war on poverty here in CANADA

and those existing in poverty can at least feed their kids thanks to your tax dollars whether you want to help them or not

there are not nearly enough social workers to handle the epidemic of poverty and abuse

and because it was a holiday there were people out and about the statues and monuments that usually would not have been...therefore more buried...it was pretty much the worst case scenario

LOS ANGELES - Google executive Dan Fredinburg was among 18 people killed on Mount Everest after a 7.8 earthquake ripped through Nepal on Saturday morning.
His younger sister, Megan, made the announcement on Instagram. He apparently suffered a "major head injury."
Fredinburg was chief of privacy for the company's Google X facility. Last year, he reportedly survived another deadly avalanche on Mount Everest.
"We appreciate all of the love that has been sent our way thus far and know his soul and his spirit will live on in so many of us," his sister wrote. "All our love and thanks to those who shared this life with our favorite hilarious strong willed man. He was and is."
Fredinburg, along with two other Google executives, were featured in an article in the U.K.'s the Guardian newspaper about their travels to Everest.
