Dust off the parade route.

maybe they are disappointed now, their goal might have been 'full speed ahead' to the bottom,

mcDavid is the trophy.

I want him in edmonton, not in the east, especially the stink hole that they call buffalo, toronto
probably couldn't make it to the bottom now, awe, too bad.

Inflammatory Leafs tweet appears live on TSN TradeCentre
QMI AGENCY

One of Canada’s top broadcasters is backpedaling after airing an inflammatory tweet during Monday morning’s NHL trade deadline coverage.
The insinuating tweet appeared live on TSN and mentioned Leafs winger Joffrey Lupul and Dion Phaneuf’s wife, actress Elisha Cuthbert.
The station has been pulling in viewer tweets at the bottom of its screen using hashtag #TradeCentre.
But it appears the company’s editing protocol – at least in this instance – was seriously breached.
“Thank you for flagging this,” TSN PR originally responded to a viewer. “We’ve removed it and will ensure it won’t happen again.”
It didn't take long for Lupul to respond.
On Sunday, TSN was also forced to act after one of its on-air pundits sent out a series of insensitive tweets.
Former NHLer Dustin Penner said he was just joking when he questioned consensual sex.
“Is it always consensual if she's your girlfriend?” Penner wrote. “Asking for my (girlfriend and) shortly arriving police.”
He attempted to qualify the “joke” after receiving immense backlash online.
“I came up with the joke with my (girlfriend you) idiots freaking out about this,” Penner answered.
“Is it a rape joke if it's your girlfriend? Is this even my girlfriend?!”

Leafs' Dubas slams TSN over Lupul-Phaneuf tweet that aired on TV
By Rob Longley, Toronto Sun First posted: Tuesday, March 03, 2015 01:35 PM EST | Updated: Tuesday, March 03, 2015 03:02 PM EST
The give-a-crap meter surrounding the Leafs is off the charts, if the rant against TSN by assistant general manager Kyle Dubas is any indication.

Speaking on TSN Radio’s Leafs Lunch on Tuesday, Dubas ripped into the network for a distasteful tweet related to Dion Phaneuf, his wife Elisha Cuthbert and fellow Maple Leaf Joffrey Lupul that ran on-screen on Monday.

Sources tell us Leafs management was incensed at TSN - whose parent company Bell is also an owner of the NHL team - and let management know about it. And Dubas confirmed it in an interview that had to be awkward for TSN brass.

And it’s clear that Leafs players are not amused, either.

“I think players have a right to be pissed off,” Dubas told the TSN Radio trio of Gareth Wheeler, Jeff O’Neill and Craig Button.

Dubas referred to the team hitting a “boiling point” over what he called “rumour mongering (that was) allowed to go across a screen on a national network.”

The exchange led to some awkward moments given that Dubas was ripping the TSN television network on its radio partner. Button tried to defend the network for the bone-headed mistake, which only served to further fire up Dubas.

In Florida, where the Leafs had their game-day skate Tuesday prior to a night-time meeting with the Panthers, Lupul, normally one of the most accommodating and insightful Leafs players, declined to talk with the media before tweeting “Get familiar with #nocomment.”

The Dubas and Lupul commentary came moments after Phil Kessel lashed out at the Toronto media for their coverage of Phaneuf this season. Dubas, in his first year in the NHL, applauded Kessel for his passionate comments.

“Phil’s very passionate about that,” Dubas said. “He wants to show that the team and the guys care.”

Phaneuf, Lupul hire law firm over tweet aired on TSN
By Mike Zeisberger, Toronto Sun First posted: Tuesday, March 03, 2015 05:31 PM EST | Updated: Tuesday, March 03, 2015 06:19 PM EST
Dion Phaneuf, Elisha Cuthbert and Joffrey Lupul are fighting back.

Responding to an insinuating tweet about Lupul and Cuthbert - Phaneuf’s wife - that appeared at the bottom of the screen during TSN’s trade deadline show on Monday, the trio have hired the Vancouver-based firm of Gall Legge Grant & Munroe LLP in an attempt to seek retribution and clear their names.

If not, a lawsuit will be pending.

The following is a statement released Tuesday by Peter A. Gall, Q.C. with the firm.

“On behalf of our clients Dion Phaneuf, his wife Elisha Cuthbert and Joffrey Lupul, we have sent a letter to TSN demanding that TSN issue a formal apology and pay a significant amount of damages to each of our clients for broadcasting a false and defamatory tweet during their trade deadline show yesterday. We are sending a similar letter to the author of the tweet, Mr. Anthony Adragna.

“It is bad enough that there are people who spend their time using social media to publish such false and malicious stories, but it is made much worse when a reputable media outlet like TSN gives broad circulation and credibility to these false stories by republishing them as TSN did.

“If TSN and Mr. Adragna do not immediately comply with the demands set out in our letters, we have instructions from our clients to immediately commence a lawsuit against them.

“Our clients will not be discussing this matter with the media.” Shortly after the controversial tweet aired on Monday, Lupul tweeted out his own response.

@JLupul:” TSN just a poor mans TMZ. Embarrassing.” TSN quickly apologized Monday with a statement sent out by its PR account:

“Earlier today, an inappropriate and disrespectful tweet was erroneously aired. As soon as it was flagged, we immediately removed it. We’ve reached out to the Toronto Maple Leafs organization and all those impacted to extend our sincerest apologies for our error. It should have never, ever gone to air.” Obviously, that release did not suffice in the minds of Phaneuf, Cuthbert and Lupul.

Now the entire situation is in the hands of the lawyers.
