An eight-week-old baby boy is safe after being found outside in a frosty car seat in a driveway in London, Ont.
The infant was transported to hospital after police were called to a residence on Emery Street at 5:40 a.m. Tuesday morning, London police said in a statement.
The child was “cleared medically” and turned over to the care of Children’s Aid Society, according to police.
Anothony Franze, who found the child, tells CTV London he heard what he thought was a cat making noise as he was leaving his house around 5:30 a.m.
When he realized a baby had been left in a neighbour’s driveway, he brought the child inside and his fiancée called 911.
The boy was wearing clothing and had a blanket, but his face and hands were exposed and the seat had frost on it, Franze said.
Environment Canada says temperatures in London reached -6 C overnight.
“Both parents have been identified and an investigation is continuing,” police said.
Any person with information is asked to call London police at 519-661-5670 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.

Parents charged after 8-week-old baby left outside in driveway

The parents of an eight-week-old infant who was found in a car seat in the driveway of a London, Ont. home earlier this week are now facing charges in the case.
A neighbour found the baby boy outside a home on Emery Street around 5:40 a.m. Tuesday and called police.
When officers entered the home, they found the child’s sleeping father, who had been drinking. A probation order prohibited him both from being inside the home and consuming alcohol. He was arrested at the scene.

Hours earlier, at around 1:48 a.m., police had arrested the infant’s mother on suspicion of operating a motor vehicle while impaired by a drug in the Wellington Road and Grey Street area.
Police determined that she had placed the baby in the driveway before driving away from the home.
“While the exact time the child was placed in the driveway could not be determined, the police do not have any reason to believe the mother did not drive directly to the location where she was arrested,” London police said Wednesday in a news release.
Police have charged Megan Sproul, aged 31, with failing to provide the necessaries of life and abandoning a child. She is due to appear in court on April 9.
Craig Lush, 31, of St. Thomas, Ont., is charged with two counts of breach of probation. Lush will appear in court on April 1.
The baby boy was cleared medically, police said.
The neighbour who found the child told CTV London that there was frost on the car seat and the child was cold to the touch. He wasn’t wearing a coat, hat or mittens.
Investigators would still like to hear from anyone who may have information related to the case. They can call London police at 519-661-5670 or Crime Stoppers at 800-222-TIPS (8477)

The world would be so much of a better place if losers like this were naturally unable to breed.

I'm glad she left the kid in the driveway...his chances of having a good life just increased exponentially.

Good thing she didn't run over him when she forgot to place him in the car.

Truly was the kids luckiest night since landing on earth.

Nature has that weeding out process. it's called survival of the fittest. Deadbeat like this wouldn't last long in a dangerous enviroment.
