Monty Python member and TV globetrotter Michael Palin leaves the world of comedy behind to star in his first dramatic, non-comedy role since GBH in 1991 in the BBC's new, three-part supernatural drama Remember Me, which started on BBC One last night and which is set in what seems to be a perpetually dark and gloomy Yorkshire (Palin's home county), which is sure to send a shiver down the spine.
Palin plays elderly Yorkshireman Tom Parfitt. Not long after Tom moves into an old folks' home, the realisation gradually dawns that he has had an odd, strange and rather sinister life....
Episode 1
Tom Parfitt is a seemingly frail old Yorkshire gent who looks well-preserved for his reported age of 80. Found, apparently injured, at the bottom of his stairs by his care worker, the decision is made to admit him into a nursing home. But no sooner has Tom arrived, there's another incident — a rather spectacular, eerie and unexplained death...
Also stars Mark Addy (who fans of the BBC's fantasy drama Atlantis will recognise as Hercules) as detective Rob Fairholme and Jodie Comer as teenage care assistant Hannah Ward.
