Wow, you got one right. This is so very true. That is probably why very few respect you, if any.
Saw something similar at Costco yesterday. A Middle eastern/Arab/Muslim family was in the line to leave just a head of me. They had about the same amount in their cart as I did. The "white" lady checking till tapes at the door counted each item on their till tape and then counted each item in their cart and even double checked item to item on the till tape of some of the things before letting them through. My wife and I were next, she did a cursory look at the till tape and in my buggy and let us through.
Yep. Shortly after 9/11, my friend Ghassan told me he was at the grocery store with his wife when some a$$hole made some rude comments about him. Ghassan turned to him and said "You got a problem with Italians?" in a fake New York accent. The guy apologised profusely. Seems that when he thought Ghassan was an Arab, he didn't deserve respect, but being Italian, he did deserve respect.

Just under 2 years ago 3 thugs stole my iPhone. These thugs happen to be black. I can't say I don't think about it everytime I see some black youth appoach me. So yes, we all judge based upon our experiences. Do I know that not all blacks are crooks and thugs, yes. But does that stop me from grabbing my phone tighter when one appoaches me on the steet? No.

Heck, much of my life savings was "stolen" when I went to law school and found no real use for my worthless degree (indeed, the same is true of half of my classmates who had to find jobs in other fields - a problem that remains true to this day). The cost of this useless education was far more than a phone. Should I (or them) be in fear of losing my wallet or credit card when in the presence of white people?
