I'm still at a loss for words. While Coach Scolari has said he is responsible for the loss, it still does not account for why the team was so utterly unprepared for the match. Just why on earth were the defensemen out of position on every offensive attack? Why did not others rotate on backwards to cover for missed marks? And why didn't the sweeper or other backs take long sweeps into the midfield to clear out the zone?

Every newspaper or media account I've seen so far points to the loss of Brazil's top two men (Neymar and Thiago). But as I wrote above this is no excuse! Scolari has a game plan in place and his team was noted for having two men for each position. Therefore, you continue to execute the game plan and the alternate plan. But where was the alternate plan?? Clearly Scolari did not put one into place and it likely means he was over confident as he expected to breeze through with a victory. How foolish and naive of him.

Anyways, unto to tomorrow - perhaps we shall have a better game.
