It's infamous because of one play. It's interesting that you used an "international" game to try and make your point. As for Orr, I'm not surprised that such an idiotic comment would come from a Nucks fan. Just more evidence to support my assertion that Nuck fans are some of the least knowledgeable fans in hockey.
You're just an old fart living in the past.

Because they are soft players.

Absolute crap. You can't score a hundred and some points in a season
in the NHL and be a "soft" player. I'm sure the twins take home a few new
bruises after every game. They just don't do a lot of whining about it

You're dead on the mark #Juan, but you have a brick wall for an audience.

Sure you can. Ovechkin and Backstrom have done it. Thornton, Lecavalier, Heatley. The list of 90+ pointers is practically endless.

I should have said two hundred and some points in a season and there won't be all that many. Daniel
has a hundred and four points in the first half of the season so it stands to reason that in the full season
he will have two hundred points or better.

Yeah, but if you've been paying attention he's "soft". I guess "soft" here means not breaking heads and taking out knee caps.:lol:

just heard on team 1040 that the boston bruins had their visit to the white house today, because

they are the stanley cup winners, and that is good and fine, BUT

Tim Thomas would not attend because of his hard core republican position.

I am wondering if it is that, or is he a 'bigot', or both.

I thought in the u.s. the position of the president, and the white house is always respected,

and political persuasion is put aside when visiting for purposes like this one, and others.

Any thoughts?

Funny that. Apparently being a hard core republican means not having respect for the Office. That's hilarious.

I never want to know what sports figures and entertainment people think about politics, it usually means losing respect for people whose work you appreciate.

I don't really care what people's, (or sports figures) political persuasions are, but I think that
snubbing the very house your president sits in, is ignorant and rude.

I would gladly have received praise from george bush for my stanley cup victory. I might have had
to take medication before hand, but I would have been there. lol

We seem to have gotten away from the old adage- "It matters not whether you win or lose but how you play the game". It really doesn't have so much to do with the game anymore, but money, money, money and recognition from those whose ethics may be questionable!

I thought the point was to WIN the Stanley Cup, in which case, it DOES matter whether you win or lose.

Oh, but I forgot, the Stanley Cup isn't important, it's the Presidents Trophy that's the one to win.

I was at a family funeral last week, and while discussing hockey, I mentioned the 'Two girls, no cup' t shirts...which caused several young male adults to burst our laughing and spill their beer.

Or from Bill and Monica for that matter!

President's Trophy takes more stamina, 82 games against 29 teams! It's just not the money maker for all involved!

As for Thomas. It's just a photo op for a politician. Who cares. Just something for the sour grape Nucks fans to pout over.

It doesn't much matter what you say, #Juan, there is just no way to insulate yourself from stupidity (or big traps):lol::lol::lol:

at least bill had a brain-----
and what woman would have an affair with bush, there would have
to be a lot of money in it for her, and a blind fold.

Bill might be a little old for affairs, I think he has a wonky heart.

yes, the friskiness has gone from his gate now, if he can get thru one chapter of a book
in the evening, he is doing well.
