In spite of the fact that the Electoral College is an American institution, I will offer two observations.

1. The Electoral College was designed to ensure that America has a group of elites that stands ready to intercede if the electorate is uppity.
2. However, America, unlike democracies, has gotten around the issue of the electorate making poor choices by having two identical parties as the only serious contenders for office.

The person that posted this subject knows absolutely NOTHING about the American political system.

Of course, being ignorant is absolutely no bar to THINKING that you know a subject well.

and you know that Karrie knows nothing about the subject how? You must be psychic since she didn't add a comment one way or another about the subject. All she did was post a you tube vid. So, are you psychic, or is that psychotic?

Considering that everything in the video is accurate, where does the ignorance you mention actually lie? The United States desperately needs political reform if it is to continue as a great power in the 21st century. Unfortunately, most Americans have been so brainwashed into believing that the United States is the most democratic nation on the planet, they don't even realize just how undemocratic their system is. As a result the US is now stuck with a system of government that continues to become more and more disfunctional, heavily favours the wealthy, and is completely unable to cope with the rapidly changing realities of the modern world. Let's hope that every American watches this video and pushes for a little electoral reform. It would be a small start, but at least it might get the ball rolling toward making the US the democracy most Americans think they have.
