I think it's a plug for the ngos or whatever the orgs are helping her. The UN can't fix everything, but private citizens can organize and step in where they can't/wont and the UN can promote or bash whatever they want. An endorsment from the UN still means something in certain parts of the world and to certain groups and so does a opublic shunning.

I spent ten years (OK actually 9 years, eleven months 12 days) on active duty as an enlisted man with the United States Army. My measured IQ (on the Stanford-Binet) is 142.
Hate to tell JB, but the average US Solider has just about an average IQ. And they are far from "trigger happy", and they never shoot people out of boredom.
