And, of course, young drooling was Hillbilly Billy, who couldn't stop drooling at any female weighing over sixty pounds.
The last president to post a surplus.
Truman and Reagan were both really bad. That's the thing with US Presidents: horrible leaders get drilled into people as being good. Some of the men on US currency don't even deserve to be there.
.
Ron was a good reader....nothing more.
He tripled the national debt....way to go.

Maybe the cost of getting rid of a huge albatross.............the old U.S.S.R.:smile:
The last president to post a surplus.
It was worse than that, Avro; he set a very bad example for conservatives. Conservatives regard Reagan as almost a demi God. So if Regan borrowed heavily and racked up a huge debt, a huge deficit, that must be a good thing. So Republicans enthusiastically adopted the borrow and spend Reagan philosophy.
It is like a parent setting bad example for the children. All the conservative children imitated the bad example of their parent, Reagan and have been racking up huge debt and deficits ever since (both in USA and Canada).
Surplus- on paper maybe. We just don't know.......we don't know how the books were made and we don't even know for sure the right books to look in. After all is said and done and you have a reasonably accurate set of books, then that has to be balanced against the wealth of the country. Just too many intangibles to make an accurate comparison.
You mean a red herring.
Interesting how the US cons are all for crippling the economy on an invislbe enemy but when it comes to helping it's own people.....fukem.
Regan wasn't as bad as the Bush's.
He did get the ball rolling though.
In the current Republican astmosphere Regan would be a moderate and therefore the enemy.
Other than Nixon - who had the integrity that Slick Willy never had - no other President lowered the office to personal attacks on those who disagree with him.
Well, Obama trumps Nixon in that regard in spades. (No pun intended).
Providing a list of all the childish and idiotic remarks Obama - personally, not just thru his office - made about individuals and/or corporations would be boringly long.
Worst President? Too soon to know. But most childish, immature, unprepared, petulant and incompetant, YES!
SirJosephPorter, blame Bush and Reagan all you like. And being the foaming-at-the-mouth liberal, that you are, you DO like.
But facts are facts:
