Many Catholics unwilling to address sex-abuse allegations

Webmaster's Commentary:
You should see the hate-emails I am getting from the buy-bull bangers!
Here is the problem. The true believers are trapped in a paradox with no resolution.
On the one hand they have a church (and this is not confined just to Catholics) that claims to be the fast lane to a perfect divine spirit, an all seeing all knowing deity that has sent down a bunch of rules regarding our conduct and a promise of everlasting damnation for failing to obey those rules.
With me so far? Good.
But now these true believers are confronted with a priesthood which obviously is not obeying the laws they claim come from their deity, not to mention the laws of civil society, and more to the point seem totally unconcerned about this everlasting damnation thing. In other words, the priests don't act like they believe the stuff they shout from the pulpit. And if they don;t believe it, why should anyone else?
The other paradox has to do with prayer. I am certain that the parents of every one of those molested children prayed in church and at home that their children be kept safe from harm. Clearly, those prayers fell on deaf ears, or quite possibly no ears at all. The buy-bull bangers are trying to get around this one by saying God respects free will, but the end result is the same; prayers by parents to keep their children safe went unanswered. And if prayer does not work, why pray? Why indeed bother going to church at all?
So what we have here is a bunch of people brainwashed since birth unable to reconcile the image of the church as indoctrinated into them with the reality unfolding before their eyes. They are faced with the reality that the god of all those molesting religions may be no more real than Zeus or Odin or Lono (local kine god). Few people have the kind of courage it takes to admit to themselves they have been victims of a swindle, but that is really what it comes down to. Though there may not have been sex involved, they are still victims of a very immoral industry masquerading as a moral authority.
The time has come to abandon beliefs and to live a rational life.

Sexual Abuse Suit Names Priest, Archdiocese

Tags:

Sitting before the news cameras in his lawyer’s downtown New Haven office, Brooks Thopsey relived a painful moment 20 years earlier, inside a church. He was lifting his arms, changing into his altar boy’s robe, when a priest he and his family had trusted made a direct frontal sexual attack on him, he said.
Thopsey (pictured) recalled the tale Wednesday morning during a press conference to announce that he has filed a a civil suit against the former pastor of St. Theresa’s Church in Trumbull, John Castaldo. Also named as defendants are the Roman Catholic Diocese of Bridgeport and its former bishops, including Edward Egan, since promoted to Archbishop of New York.

Conservative Mexican Priest Abused Sons He Fathered

Tuesday, 30 March 2010 07:16

The Rev. Marcial Maciel is blessed by Pope John Paul II in 2004. Maciel was ableto avoid sanction for decades, despite scandals and allegations of abuse, because the pope admired the Legion of Christ for its ability to generate the wealthyand recruit seminarians
'He hobnobbed with Mexico’s rich and famous, cut lucrative real estate deals and was rumored to travel on occasion with a briefcase full of cash. He fathered at least one child, molested seminarians and boys and is said to have boasted that he had the pope’s permission to get massages from young nuns.
And all the while the conservative priest was building one of the most influential organizations in the Roman Catholic Church.
Two years after the death of the Rev. Marcial Maciel, a Mexico native, scandals continue to unfold: Just the other day in Mexico City, two brothers came forward, claiming tearfully that not only was Maciel their father, he had also sexually abused them.
Buffeted by the string of revelations, Maciel’s powerful Legion of Christ is fighting for its survival in Rome, the headquarters of the church. But here in Mexico, where the Legion has long-standing ties with the ruling class and an expansive network of elite schools, the organization remains strong.'

Satanism - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Hmm no mention of child abuse or even animal rituals

Satanism is worship of Satan; it is no different from worship of Jesus or worship of Allah. Do some Satanists break the law and indulge in unspeakable practices? Of course they do. So do some Muslims, some Christians, some Hindus etc.

Satanism gets a bad rap because it is a minority religion, like the Wiccan. Devil worship itself is not any different or any more irrational than worship of any God. Any illegal acts committed is a different thing altogether.

As to this article, it belongs on the April Fool’s day, as you commented.

Ireland Child Abuse Report Reveals Vatican, Police Cover-up Collusion

Saturday, 03 April 2010 08:16

'The Vatican refused to co-operate with an official inquiry investigating sexual abuse by clerics in the Catholic Church in Ireland. The official Report of the Commission of Investigation into the Catholic Archdiocese of Dublin was published on Thursday. The investigation began in 2006, and covered the period 1975 – 2004. The Commission’s brief was “to investigate how Church and state authorities handled allegation of child abuse against 46 priests”. The inquiry condemned church leaders for covering-up abuse for decades.
The Commission examined complaints concerning over 320 children. Substantially more of the complaints related to boys. Of the 46 priests examined, 11 pleaded guilty to or were convicted in the criminal courts of sexual assaults on children.
According to the Commission, there was also collusion on the part of the police. A number of very senior members of the Irish police regarded priests as being outside their remit. There were some examples of them actually reporting complaints to the Archdiocese instead of investigating them.'

Did Boy Scouts Keep 'Perversion Files?'

Saturday, 03 April 2010 08:49

'But the former troop leader isn't on trial, reports CBS News correspondent John Blackstone. The case is against the Boy Scouts, who kept confidential files on Dykes and on thousands of molesters, intended to keep them out of scouting but keep the incidents quiet.
"They wanted to just get the guy to go away," said Patrick Boyle, an investigative journalist. "And let's hope he doesn’t show up again. So that means very frequently, nobody told the police."
Now the secrecy is being lifted in an Oregon courtroom.'

John Paul ‘Ignored Abuse of 2,000 Boys’

Sunday, 04 April 2010 10:30

Cardinal Hans Hermann Groer abused an estimated 2,000 boys for decades without sanction
'When John Paul II died five years ago the crowd that packed St Peter’s Square for his funeral clamoured “Santo subito (Saint now)!” in a spontaneous tribute to the charisma of the Polish pontiff.
As the faithful marked the anniversary of John Paul’s death on Good Friday, however, he was being drawn into the scandal over child abuse in the Catholic church that has confronted his successor, Benedict XVI, with the worst crisis of his reign.
Allegations that the late pontiff blocked an inquiry into a paedophile cardinal, promoted senior church figures despite accusations that they had molested boys and covered up innumerable cases of abuse during his 26-year papacy have cast a cloud over his path to sainthood. The most serious claims related to Cardinal Hans Hermann Groer, an Austrian friend of John Paul’s who abused an estimated 2,000 boys over decades but never faced any sanction from Rome.'

FOUND: Phallic Images in Vatican Architecture. Does This Help Explain Sexual Turmoil of Pedophile Priests?

When the sun shines just right through carefully crafted trimmings around St. Peter’s Basilica in Vatican Square, these phallic images appear, my God, they’re even circumcised.

Just what every developing sex crime committing Catholic Priest needs to see as a subliminal message when he visits the Pope. Does this reveal perversion at such a deep level, all throughout the Church, that little subtle porn images like this just sort of accidentally slip into Catholic drawings, designs, and architecture?
Move the Vatican to Thailand.
Catholic Scholar and historian on priest sex crimes, Jay Nelson of New Mexico, confirms, this photo floating around the internet is indeed a picture of Vatican Square.

Why did no one call the cops? Princes of church failed royally

Tags:

As this latest tsunami of child sexual abuse engulfs the Catholic Church, a question for the Pope: did anyone ever call the cops? When it became known that a priest had raped or sexually molested a child, did any monsignor/bishop/archbishop/cardinal anywhere in the world report the crime to the police/polizei/polica/polizia?
The answer is no.
