If I had been awarding this medal the clincher would have been when the sergeant kept going after he was hit
on the breast plate. I understand this can hurt like hell. The other thing of course is that if you get hit in the chest,
it means somebody has got your range and they can likely hit you again.

A in the chest means he cheated death once. Anything after that is pure balls and good fortune.
