Here's the GOP plan:

Yup, that's the plan. They have lots of ideas, they just haven't had time in all these months since the Dems have been throwing stuff together to make their own plan yet. They have to know what the majority plan is first, before they can offer their own plan.

YouTube - Boehner's empty talk on health reform

At least they can admit it. :lol:

They have had that plan for many years (indeed, many decades) now, Tonington. When they had the control of presidency, Senate and House and could have passed pretty much anything they wanted, they did act on their health care plan (i.e. they did absolutely nothing, if you don’t have a plan, you cannot possibly acting on it).

Now that Democrats are talking of health care reform, Republicans are trying to convince Americans that they also have a health care plan. Their health care plan adds up to a big fat zero (and insurance companies wouldn’t have it any other way).

Since the 2008 election there has been nothing of a constructive nature come from the Republican party. They have no leader and I don't see one rising to the task in the foreseeable future.

The left still has no brains, and that is the scary part. There will be a big mess to straighten out when the other party wins.

Again, I was wrong.

The Republican solution to the Health Plan crisis.

The CATO Institute remains a primary resource for ideas that will work in reforming health insurance. It recommends four steps Congress could take.

(1.) Give Medicare enrollees a voucher and let them choose any health plan on the market that fits their needs, not what the government dictates.

(2) Congress should reform the tax treatment by allowing large health savings accounts. This would reduce the number of uninsured Americans, would free workers to buy secure health coverage from any source, and would effectively give workers a $9.7 trillion tax cut without increasing the deficit;

(3) Congress should break up state monopolies on insurance and clinician licensing. CATO estimates allowing people to buy insurance from other states could cover one-third of the uninsured without new taxes or government subsidies.

(4) Congress should reform Medicaid and the State Children's health Insurance Program (S-CHIP) the way it reformed it in 1996 when it block-granted the programs. This would help reduce the deficit and encourage states to target resources to those in need.

But why didn’t they work for it when they had the power and could have passed anything they wished, ironsides?

Because they are politicians just like the Democrats, prefer to play solitaire on their computers. If either of them did anything, they just might not have a job. But since it is the Democrats in power now who promised "Change" it is their time to do just that. (almost 3 years of Democratic control and nothing)
