None of the figures quoted in the farticle are remotely correct."Fiscal responsibility" is a spin tool constantly used by the right-wingers but rarely exercised in reality.

Even when you are right you sound like a nut who needs to get out more.

I completely agree.

This is one conservative that thinks deficit spending is idiotic at best, and deficit spending at the level achieved by GW is evidence of insanity.

Yes and no.

When the NDP spent money on infastructure in the early nineties I think they were doing the right thing as a matter of buisness because you can't make money unless you spend money.

BTW what did Mike the knife do when he got in? Oh yeah, spent 100 million borrowed dollars to fill in a hole dug for a subway line.

Cons are a joke when it comes to money and drip with hypocricy when it comes to fiscal responsiblility.

It used to be that Bush was untouchable in this forum - nonpareil - Perfection Himself - the living embodiment of God. Good to see that so many have awakened to his lunacy and to the fact that his regime has been a dismal failure from day one.

Very glad to see the big change here in CC.

Is the light being seen with our current candidates?

How can that happen at this point, don't we have to see them at work for
some time, at least one year, then begin, either the trashing or the praising!!!!
Don't know how either one of them can make changes for some time, look at what
they are inheriting.
Obama has stated on occasion, that, 'it won't be easy', and he expects the 'people' to do
their share.
McCain will just doddle along, paying attention to the war, showing his so-called expertise, and everything else will be decided by his partners, nothing really new there,
same ole same ole.
The Dems will have much more of a challenge, because there will be changes.
'We can do it'., he's not same ol same ol.

Harper must be watching Bush. In the first two months of 2008 Harper's government posted a $500 million dollar deficit. Last year at this time there was over a $billion dollar surplus. Cutting the GST and corporate taxes are signs that he has no idea what he's doing.
