Do American politics tend to be more civilized than Canadian politics?

Today, Harper defamed some MP for his connections to the Air India Inquiry and all of a sudden the whole house of commons turned into what looked like a bunch of buffoons firing words across the floor against each other.

Now that begs the question, do our neighbors to the south actually have politicians with more manners than here in Canada or or they just the same in the U.S. Congress? If so, I am deeply shamed.

Definition of Politics: "Poli" in latin meaning "many" and "tics" meaning "blood-sucking parasites

Oh no..we have our firebrands to be sure...but heres a good one...even if a bit old...

Oddly enough...back when Republicans were the good guys during the 1800's Charles Sumner spoke out heavily against slavery...and was subsequently assaulted by a democrat...Mr. Preston Smith Brooks..who beat him severly with his walking cane.

So, we've had our fights as well.

Strangely, smashing someone's face with a cane seems so much more civilized and "manly" than the way today's politicians pussy foot around issues and each other. We'd probably get a lot more accomplished...if we could just kill all the lawyers..:laughing7:
