It is mostly the sunni muslims who are killing the shiite muslims,not U.S. troops. When one of these terrorists(insurgents) drives up in a van announcing that he has jobs for the people and then blows up his van killing 66 people(last week) this is not the U.S. killing.It is Saddam's supporters killing.

Generally, the United States government doesn't like democratic governments. Especially when they nationalize their products.

If the international law and UN were around during WWII Chuchill and Roosevel would have been tried for war crimes for the amount of civillian deaths and infrastructure destruction. Probably there would have been a cease fire ever three days and the war would still be going on.
International law should only apply if a state opts in. There are lots of despots who should be tried for being assholes, but to do so would be a violation of a sovereign nation.

Maybe most ironic (top ten I guess) is that Bush said he invaded because Iraq had WMD and was a theat to other nations.
