Trump national security adviser Michael Flynn resigns amid Russian controversy

National security adviser Michael Flynn has resigned after reports he misled Trump administration officials about his contacts with Russia's ambassador to the U.S.

Flynn's departure less than one month into the Trump administration marks an extraordinarily early shakeup in the president's senior team of advisers. Flynn was a loyal Trump supporter throughout the campaign, but his ties to Russia caused concern among other senior aides.

Flynn initially told Trump advisers that he did not discuss sanctions with the Russian envoy during the transition. Vice-President Mike Pence, apparently relying on information from Flynn, publicly vouched for the national security adviser.

Flynn later told White House officials that he may have discussed sanctions with the ambassador.

As recently as Friday, Trump said he was unaware of reports Flynn discussed sanctions before the inauguration.

Trump managed to avoid questions on the controversy during a joint press conference Monday with Prime Minister Justin Trudeau.

I viewed Flynn as a man who kind of liked to work on his own. This mindset was his down fall. Everyone has a doss and he forgot that.

Whenever anyone left the Obama administration, forum right wingers gloated. This because they said it proved BHO's incompetence and how so many people were fed up with it. Well now. This resignation occurred far faster than anything we saw in the previous 8 years. Obviously, it proves Trump's incompetence and how he lacks the ability to surround himself with able administrators within his regime.

The timing is already one thing, but the national security advisor is a threat to their own national security and their platform was about making America safe.

Let's remember the most important part of this recipe.

When you add the butter and cream, fold it in with a wood and rubber spatula. Don't use stainless steel!

Remember the idea is to add what will give the cake its light, airy texture. SS doesn't do the proper job of blending the butter and cream in with the flour and baking powder. Remember too that the eggs are the last wet ingredient that should be added to the mixing bowl.

If you have added the portions correctly, the batter should pour like you're 'lifting linen', as my mother used to say. The only thing is to bake the filled pan for approx. 30 minutes, checking with a tooth pick at the 25 minute mark. That's it!

Let's be VERY clear: Flynn DID NOT make that Russian call on his own. He was INSTRUCTED to do so.He was TOLD to reassure them. Arrest Trump.

Rubbish.He did that for his boss. There is no reason why he should or would try to cut a deal with the Russians without having the power to make it happen. He did Trump's bidding and he was thrown under the bus.

Flynn would never have tried to negotiate with the Russians on his own. Why would he and how could he without himself having the power to cancel the sanctions against them? He did it on Trump's behalf. He must have. Acting ALONE makes zero sense, because it would all be talk and the Russians would know it from the start.

So, before he was actually President, Trump had an operative tell the Russians that sanctions just imposed by his Commander-in-Chief were going to be overturned by Trump (in exchange for what?) A private citizen trying to make private deals on matters of national security (the sanctions were a response to hacking of a democratic election) with an erstwhile enemy is an act of treason. It is illegal for private citizens to carry on that sort of negotiation in American law, anyway but with a military adversary during a time on near war? That is an act of treason, pure and simple. Flynn is taking the fall but Trump did it.
