ok then.

In the very city where the surviving Tsarnaev brother will stand trial for the murder of four and wounding hundreds in the April 15, 2013 Boston Marathon terrorist attack, one of the more senior Obama Administration security officials is calling on American parents to monitor their children for signs of them becoming "confrontational" among other red flag warnings they are on the verge of becoming future terrorists, as reported by the right-of-center news portal The Daily Caller on April 19, 2014, and also by The Wall Street Journal on Jan. 25, 2013.

With the impressive title of Assistant to the President for Homeland Security and Counterterrorism, Boston native Lisa O. Monaco recently delivered a speech at her alma mater's Kennedy School of Government on the Harvard campus. Entitled "Countering Violent Extremism and the Power of Community" Monaco warned parents from South Boston to San Diego to monitor their children closely for fear they should embrace violent extremism as a future career choice.

In the event the Homeland Security honcho's words of warning caused undue angst into the hearts of her audience, she reassured the assembled that Barack Obama "has been laser-focused" on preventing "violent extremism" "by homegrown violent extremists" already here "in the United States." However, Monaco made it abundantly clear that the former community organizer required the help of "local communities" to keep a sharp eye opened for any individual displaying the "warning signs a person" is becoming "radicalized to violence."

Calling on parents, teachers and friends alike to monitor the acts, speech and behavior of those closest to them, Monaco advised:
For instance, parents might see sudden personality changes in their children at home becoming confrontational.
Teachers might hear a student expressing an interest in traveling to a conflict zone overseas, or friends might notice a new interest in watching or sharing violent material.
As per Monaco's testimony at her confirmation hearing before the US Senate in 2011, she apparently has never been married nor has any children of her own.

Curiously, despite the first anniversary of the terrorist bombing of the Boston Marathon having just been commemorated by the people of Massachusetts and the nation, coupled with the fact she was warning of possibly dangerous behavior by the nation's youth, Monaco failed to mention the names of now deceased Tamerlan Anzorovich Tsarnaev, 26, or that of his now 20-year-old brother Dzhokhar Anzorovich "Jahar" Tsarnaev.

Yet the presidential assistant was able to factor 73-year-old Frazier Glenn Miller into her speech. Reportedly a former member of the Ku Klux Klan, Miller was recently arrested in a shotgun shooting spree in suburban Kansas City at two different Jewish centers, killing three.

What's the first sign?? Rather than playing Cowboys and Indians, you want to play the terrorist bomber?

I doubt you're going to get much of a clue from a 49-year-old rodeo poster.

Want a new one? Wait a month until the Pow wow schedules come out. You should come out for a couple and get into the fun and games. Enter your wheels in the best rez car contest. $200 will buy a lot of bannock and beer.

That would be $198 for the white-mans firewater and $2 for the truckload of bannock, still wondering what Tribe people should be joining? (as if the 97% aren't part of a 'hidden' Reservation themselves.

well you do wonder afterward if there were "signs"... it's like a serial killer...sometimes they say yes other times no.. I think often times parents don't want to see...of course when the kid ends up infamous they likely wish they had said something

Throw the parents in the slammer along with the kids and see how fast parenting skills change.
well you do kind of wonder...then again, parents like to think the best...and wasn't there a couple in Europe who did warn the authorities and it all ended in a disaster anyway.

Indeed. Ive read that Ted Bundy's mother didn't believe he did anything. Even when he admitted it she had a hard time accepting it. A lot of parents can be wilfully blind to who their kid (whether still a child or an adult) really is.

I imagine they'd get worse. Imagine being raised by people who were in the prison system for years. Doesn't sound too pleasant or good.

If they play it right its kind of like being a terrorist given what they did to each other when the real Cowboys and Indians were doing things. They both used terrorist tactics and didn't mind killing unarmed people including children.

Once they start opening a door with a shotgun the truth is out of the bag.

In some un-named countries near the mid-east (like Turkey before joining NATO) whole families could stay in prison if the husband was the bread-winner so the family doesn't starve to death. Not sure how the authorities get paid but in those places the only locks are on the gates to the outside, inside it is basically an open air type of thing. Worse than we had in the middle of the 20th century, better than we have in the 21st century, my how times change.

but look at the background she came from...there was speculation that his father was her father and that he was a product of rape...she never admited to that but there was speculation since his father is of unknown origin.

I like the term you used...willfully blind. Willfully blind is a special kind of dysfunction that leads to all kinds of trouble.
