It's official. Dope is now an official American industry. The threshold test is spending more time lobbying for tax breaks than doing whatever it is you say you do.

Marijuana industry delegation’s pitch on legalized pot: It’s just good business

By Holly Yeager, Published: March 13

The delegation from the National Cannabis Industry Association made a point of dressing well for its day on Capitol Hill, sporting mostly dark suits, lots of ties and plenty of the group’s signature lapel pins, which feature a sun rising over vibrant fields of marijuana.

Marijuana advocates have come to lobby Washington before, often to argue for more lenient treatment under federal law. But on Thursday, buoyed by a flurry of state decisions that have expanded the legal use of marijuana, the cannabis crowd came less as social activists than as entrepreneurs, asking Congress to remove some of the obstacles that stand in the way of their fledgling businesses.

They met with staff members to ask for changes to the tax code, which prohibits the businesses from taking standard deductions for expenses. And they huddled in congressional offices to make the case for other changes that would encourage banks to work with legal cannabis businesses.

Right, now we'll see the professional adulteration of a natural substance proceed at breakneck speed to birth bank approved frankenweed
aided by their seriously sick white coated science fiends.

It will never be a "legitimate" industry as long as Federal law still prohibits it and state law allows it..

It's still illegal in the eyes of the Federal Government..

Shaking head; Darkbeaver and his anti-jew BS.. what a fukking hyprocrite ...

If you could explain the section of my previous post that you find hyprocritical you might evade the gales of hysterical laughter your infantile post has engendered in the wiser readers.

Yep, it's all the Jews' fault.

Tsk Tsk TB, playing the common zionist camp follower is unbecoming a lady.

Talking about you in General, you're anti-semite when it's convenient...

Here is the challenge for you... please stop using Jewish inventions, being you hate the Jews so much you should be able to do without any of the Jews contributions to society, right?? ...

The downside is they are trying to eliminate people having the right to grow 6 plants at home where there would be no cost to the user and a growing permit would be less than 1 oz of the commercial grade. Ever wonder why you never find any seeds? (or so I have heard)

I'm one hundred percent pro-semite. Palestinians will rule Palestine again, and soon. If you would list the alleged contributions it would greatly assist me to avoid using them.

And now back to cannabis. No good can come from government intervention in this type of horticultural endeavor. When cannabis enjoys the same freedoms and rights of tomatoes I'll get excited.

And in Massachusetts one of our Democrat Political hacks got a lions share of the initial licenses and has become the biggest weed dealer in the state!

Go Massachusetts!

The U.S. is now more progressive than Canada.

Who woulda thunk it?

I always told you that. You folks are conservative for crying out loud. I don't care if you have universal health care or not.

Rand Paul can't seem to decide which way he should flow................

Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY) has thrown his support behind legislation that Republicans could use to force President Barack Obama to crack down on legal marijuana in states like Colorado and Washington.

Speaking to Fox News on Thursday, the libertarian-leaning senator said he supported the Enforce the Law Act, which has been approved by the House. The legislation would allow Congress to sue the president for failing to faithfully execute laws.

Paul said that Obama appeared to be “writing his own laws whenever he feels like it.”

Paul, who is typically considered an ally of drug reform advocates, did not discuss the legislation’s potential effects on states’ marijuana laws during his Fox News interview. He has previously said he supports states’ rights to legalize marijuana, and that people shouldn’t be imprisoned merely for smoking marijuana.
