...The U.S. government has demanded that major Internet companies divulge users' stored passwords, according to two industry sources familiar with these orders, which represent an escalation in surveillance techniques that has not previously been disclosed.

If the government is able to determine a person's password, which is typically stored in encrypted form, the credential could be used to log in to an account to peruse confidential correspondence or even impersonate the user. Obtaining it also would aid in deciphering encrypted devices in situations where passwords are reused...

Everybody line up, and we'll go through the procedure.

1. Demonstrate (we've seen how much good that did the Occupy movement).

2. Congresscritters get OUTRAGED! and deplore, deplore, deplore!

3. Introduce a bill or amendment to stop this hideous, tyrannical, unConstitutional intrusion into Americans' lives.

4. Bill or amendment fails.

5. Lather, rinse, repeat.

maybe if the Doc was like circus-midget height, but other than that, I wouldn't do that as a general rule

Damn, I heard Canadian socialist health care sucked, but that's really harsh!

Yeah, h/c in Canada (and how wonderful it is) is somewhat of a myth.

It's much like the drunken blowhard in the bar that goes to great lengths in telling everyone how he's gonna beat you senseless... Once he's screwed-up the courage to actually step outside, he doesn't last more than 30 or 40 seconds.

That's what h/c in Canada is kinda like - a lot of talk and not much action
