- A Canadian blogger who appropriately at least in today's cold snap goes by the name bigfurhat posted this very incisive list of the insane observations that are considered as gospel by the lunatic left wing fringe and by the government troughers who make a living off such insanities:

TOP-11 “ONLY IN AMERICA” OBSERVATIONS — BY A CANADIAN*
1) Only in America could the rich people – who pay 86% of all income taxes – be accused of not paying their “fair share” by people who don’t pay any income taxes at all.
2) Only in America could people claim that the government still discriminates against black Americans when they have a black President, a black Attorney General, and roughly 18% of the federal workforce is black while only 12% of the population is black
3) Only in America could they have had the two people most responsible for our tax code, Timothy Geithner, the head of the TreasuryDepartment and Charles Rangel who once ran the Ways and Means Committee, BOTH turn out to be tax cheats who are in favor of higher taxes.
4) Only in America can they have terrorists kill people in the name of Allah and have the media primarily react by fretting that Muslims might be harmed by the backlash.
5) Only in America would they make people who want to legally become American citizens wait for years in their home countries and pay tens of thousands of dollars for the privilege while we discuss letting anyone who sneaks into the country illegally just ‘magically’ become American citizens.
6) Only in America could the people who believe in balancing the budget and sticking by the country’s Constitution be thought of as”extremists.”
7) Only in America could you need to present a driver’s license to cash a check or buy alcohol, but not to vote.
8) Only in America could people demand the government investigate whether oil companies are gouging the public because the price of gas went up when the return on equity invested in a major U.S. oil company(Marathon Oil) is less than half of a company making tennis shoes(Nike).
9) Only in America could the government collect more tax dollars from the people than any nation in recorded history, still spend a Trillion dollars more than it has per year – for total spending of $7-Million PER MINUTE, and complain that it doesn’t have nearly enough money.
10) Only in America could politicians talk about the greed of the rich at a $35,000.00 a plate campaign fund-raising event.
11) Only in America can a man with no background, no qualification sand no experience … and a complete failure at his job … be re-elected.

It proved to me that americans really are stupid.
yeah, I was kind of thinking along those line too at the time...but then they pulled their heads out of their behinds and got their act together...two times in a row...to kind of counter balance the stupidity.

Obviously though, there are still those that can't think for themselves and prefer being lead around by the nose, by the fox pundits.

well, everyone has their own agenda, that part I have no problem with, but Bush created so much of the mess that Obama is dealing with and I get tired of hearing how left he is... he has definitly made mistakes but no one seems to have a problem with the body bag arrivals Bush created... they can't be fixed.

really? THAT'S your biggest objection? Something that really isn't different no matter which right wing president (Dem or Republican) get's in? Body bags have been a fact of life for americans since forever.

Okay. And Romney was your choice? He didn't make it. Guess not everyone down there thinks like you either.

So true... millions and millions on government assistance... food stamp rolls getting longer... handouts for everything. No wonder why Obama got in.

I could quit my job right now and live a comfortable life collecting welfare, a good bit of spending money and work under the table when I want... I'd vote Democrat every time. Free food, free or subsidized housing, EBT cards with spending money, free phones and phone bill paid, free oil and gas. The more the government gives out the more Democrats will be created. But someday there won't be anyone to pay the bill.

A good living on welfare? Wow, either your standards for a good life are incredibly low or all the poverty and illness due to no medical coverage are a fabrication.
