No. You're letting your blind hatred of the man in the Oval Office blind you to some realities. Most of these candidates are running on the Kerry principle (except its "I'm not Obama" this time, instead of "I'm not George W. Bush") and have little to recommend them in their own right.

Michelle Bachman, Rick Perry and Sarah Palin all have/had the potential to make George W Bush look like a good president (which he definately was not). Gingrich was one of the early architects of the financial sector meltdown (which took a couple decades of apathy by the public and many in gov't to come to fruition). Romney might not be too bad: he's someone who isn't a hardliner and may be able to build some bridges between both parties which is something desperately needed at this point, and he's also a half decent financial mind.

Santorum is a himbo (male bimbo) to me: I hate the way he always seems to be searching and stumbling for his talking points as soon as he strays from the Jesus-speak that his supporters love. Even at the NRA convention in Pittsburgh last fall, speaking to a group that should be a part of his base, he didn't impress and instead seemed to bumble around. I realize the speaking engagements and charisma are only part of the package (as Obama has shown at times) but they are an important aspect. He also doesn't want to work on Sundays, so I hope if he IS elected the rest of the world decides to pause itself for those 24 periods, regardless of their own timezones, so he doesn't have to violate the holy day...

Seriously, why would either Santorum of Romney for that matter running for President be a incentive to get out the vote, neither of them would change anything, they are to Obama like in policies. If there is to be any change, we need someone who is more a conservative than either of those two. Obama will crush them.

What are you talking about? Read the Wiki page on Santorum for his policies. He will be easily labelled "far-right".

Why the heck do you change your font in your posts btw? For some reason it changes mine when I reply to your posts and its annoying.

He is not right enough? No proper right winger would want to change any wording in our Constitution.
“The evidence is clear,” said Dudley Brown , executive director of the National Association for Gun Rights, “[Rick Santorum] has a long record of supporting anti-gun legislation and politicians.”

As for fonts, just using Arial 12.

Really? I'm using Firefox, but ya, I guess it is Arial, it's the larger font size that ironsides uses that makes it look weird.

Does this font here look the same as your last post? They look different to me.

Yep. He thinks the states should be able to outlaw contraception, and that contraception is counter to the way things are supposed to be. Take that to its logical extreme and he'd outlaw all medical interventions as contrary to the god-given natural order of things. The man's a festering moron. --

This guy is on the road to disaster already, no sooner does he get a boost than
he puts his foot in his mouth. From what I saw on TV to some he misspoke to
me it was a racial comment that got checked almost in time.
Imagine saying something to the effect we should not be taking money from rich
people who deserve it to give it to black people who don't deserve it. Even if it
was something other than a mistake he will be tagged with it now. In addition his
stand on gay rights is negative and his social conservative views will limit him in
the mainstream. I think he is worse than the rest of a field that is pretty bad.

Every one of them professes their belief in God. So any criticism of that is out the window. An atheist would never get elected.

Except this guy would do nothing in the Oval Office but pray. He says God about one every 5 words. He needs an intervention more than he needs votes.

Hey Walter - if Santorum survives all the hate filled vitriol the Republicans are spewing at him he just might be a successful candidate.

Michelle Bachmann, Herman Cain, and Rick Perry all claimed God told them to run for the presidency. I guess he must have change his mind.

Sure he would. He would just have to pretend that he is not capable of rational thought.

He (or she) would also explicitly have to pretend not to be an atheist.

If Mr. Santorum has a relationship with God which he leans on daily, that is "his truth"! Remember!? Why do you feel you need to take a shower? You should accept and be happy for him.

Doesn't seem likely that he would pick that fight.
