I'm about 2/3 convinced to make it legal.

I'd like to see more research into the long term effects of usage studied by the medical community before I hop on board with an endosement. I also have logistical concerns as well, relating to regulating potency, etc. as well as concerns about high to test for impairment in drivers. The problem I see is all this study is going to cost some substantial cash... and don't see the room in the budget...

Just legalize it already. If we're going to spend money chasing down dealers and distributors it might as well be for the hardcore stuff. Pot is just so penny ante in comparison, why waste the time and effort of police, courts, etc.

we can't test for it now, plenty of people use it and drive, so I fail to see how that should be part of what legalization is contingent upon. As for long term effects.... it's not hard to see the long term effects. They have plenty of pot smokers who admit to their docs that they smoke.

ya, I smoked enough pot in the 60s and 70s to get a blue whale wasted, and I'm normal.

While drug tests for drivers are out, there are tests regarding coordination cognitive abilities etc that the Police are trained in regarding drug impaired drivers.

In your opinion......:p;-)
You don't know what facetious means? An old girlfriend ask me once, after I told her how much LSD I did in my lifetime, "aren't you afraid you won't come down?"
"Who said I ever did?" There is nothing I fear more than people who think they are normal. They are the most dangerous people around.

Watched Woody Harrelson's 'Grass' again last night - great entertainment.

One of the more interesting facts brought to light concerns a report commissioned by Richard Nixon.

"Commissioned by President Nixon in 1972, the National Commission on Marihuana and Drug Abuse concluded that "Marihuana's relative potential for harm to the vast majority of individual users and its actual impact on society does not justify a social policy designed to seek out and firmly punish those who use it. This judgment is based on prevalent use patterns, on behavior exhibited by the vast majority of users and on our interpretations of existing medical and scientific data. This position also is consistent with the estimate by law enforcement personnel that the elimination of use is unattainable."

Nixon threw the report in the garbage and moved quickly to create a huge new bureaucracy - the DEA. Pot wasn't the only substance affected by the bill, hemp growers soon found themselves out of business and we lost a fabulously cheap source of fiber. Makes me wonder what might have been had someone slipped some mary-jane in Nixon's food.

I have often thought of doing acid under controlled conditions and have read a lot about the awakenings some have experienced spiritually. Still haven't found the right conditions, but haven't given the idea up yet.

A close friend of mine did a lot of acid when he was in his mid to late teens and early twenties when he switched to pot. He is one of the most intelligent, productive people I know and is literally a self-made man. He is respected in his field and sought after for his opinions. Not bad for an acid freak.

Everything should be legal. If you don't own your body, what do you own?

Your soul?

Yeah man!

We should legalize prostitution too! It's their body!

People should be allowed to be naked in public! It's their body!

Legalize all types of pornography as well! People should be allowed to masturbate to whatever they want! It's their body!

Have a permissible attitude toward all lifestyle choices!
They are no consequences!
