I want a new CD/DVD-RW/DVD+RW drive. What should I be looking for in a decent reliable but fairly cheap drive?

Well the ones I get are the LG models. None of them I bought for my various computers ever broke down/wore out.... and they're pretty cheap. This company I'm about to link is from where I live, but are the cheapest in the city from what I found.... but might give you a good ballpark figure for what to look for in a price. Anymore then what you see here and I'd say you're getting ripped off:

Check out the... whoa... it's been a while since I bought one... there's only one LG there, which is also a Blueray reader.... not sure if it's a writter too, but if you want something cheaper then a $210 drive and don't need blueray, the Pioneer ones on the bottom of the page are also good for about $30.... Bluerays starting to be the big thing to sell, so all the DVD burners are pretty cheap now.

Here's an LG for 30 canadian that does everything you need...including CDR up to 48X and CDRW up to 32X
