LONDON (Reuters) - Britain were relegated to the tennis wilderness, otherwise known as Group Two of the Euro/Africa zone, after Poland's Michal Przysiezny beat Dan Evans in the decisive singles to secure a 3-2 victory Sunday.
Przysiezny triumphed 6-2 6-1 7-5 against teen-ager Evans, ranked 302 in the world, to keep Poland in Euro/Africa Group One and drop Britain to the third tier of the competition for the first time in 13 years.
Earlier world number three Andy Murray defied a wrist injury to play his third match in three days in Liverpool's Echo Arena, beating Jerzy Janowicz 6-3 6-4 6-3 to level the tie after Poland had won Saturday's doubles.
