Just a few days ago the Hawthorn Hawks defeated the Geelong Cats in the Australian Football League (AFL) Grand Final in front of 100,017 fans.

This time it is Toronto's turn

A big crowd is expected to see Canada's finest battle it out at -- on October 4th. Get down and support your team !

For anyone interested, the cheating Etobicoke Kangaroos won their first ever Conacher Cup, defeating Toronto by just one point in a thriller in front of a crowd of just under 1,000.

Final scores:
Etobicoke 7.12.54 def Toronto 8.5.53

I didn't watch too much of Aus rules footy this year but did watch a great many NRL matches. They recently had their Grand Finale as Melbourne Storm whipped Manly's Sea Eagles 40-0. The crowd as about 54,000.

Now that the REAL football season is over, all I'm left with is NFL and some international soccer.

New Zealand > Australia in RLWC 34-20.

While this got absolutely no attention in North America, the folks in the Southern Hemisphere greatly enjoyed what to them was a remarkable upset.

Kudos to the Kiwis!
