O cool! A rugby league fan here! I was just about to start a rugby league thread.

I go for Wigan in Super League, and they're comin last!!!!

Who do you support?

PS: It's not a "northern england game" it's played in southern france, Half of Australia, New Zealand, Papua New guinea (it's their national sport) and throughout the Pacific Islands

rugger buggers...play a proper sport...like Association Football.....If I was responsible for that Harrow boy who picked up the ball during the football game, I wouldnt let him call it "rugger"...I'd have given him a thousand canes and told him to stop acting stupid and play a proper sport.....a game that requires skill!!!!.

No need to be so cold towards the sport just coz you don't like it.

Soccer is awesome, My two fave sports in the world are soccer and rugby league, and i'll never be able to choose which i like better.

Daz, if you live in Southampton, that's a shame, coz you're far from Rugby League. If you're ever up in London tho, try to catch a Harlequins game, you mite just like it.

PS: Do you know the difference between Rugby League & Rugby Union? Coz league is much better

Look how far Wigan Warriors have fallen. In the 1990s, they were Ruby League's dominant team, winning almost every trophy they competed in.

Now look at them - bottom of the Super League with even the likes of Catalans Dragons and Harlequins RL above them and, to make things worse, there deadliest rivals Saint Helens are the Super League Leaders.

Current Standings

But, hopefully, they've got things back on track. They've just got a new coach, Brian Noble and, in his first game as coach, they thrashed Huddersfield Giants 46-14 yesterday -

Huddersfield 14-46 Wigan

Brian Noble's first outing as Wigan coach could scarcely have gone better as the rock-bottom Warriors hammered Huddersfield 46-14 at the Galpharm Stadium.

The Warriors turned to Noble to turn the club's fortunes around after a quite dismal start to the engage Super League campaign. First-half tries from Pat Richards (2), Danny Orr, Chris Ashton and Brett Dallas ensured the Giants were out of the game before the break.

The Giants had opened the scoring through James Evans but, just as they did in their loss at the JJB Stadium earlier in the year - Wigan's only other league win - they were simply outgunned by a determined Wigan side who came up with the kind of performance that makes a mockery of their position at the foot of the table.

Noble was only appointed successor to Ian Millward at the JJB Stadium this week but oversaw a nine-try romp to record only the Warriors' second win of a difficult campaign.

"I'm pleased for them - but it's only the start for us. Let's not forget we're still bottom of the league," said Noble. "I'm really pleased, though, there's a lot of happy people in there."
