Former Borussia Dortmund manager Jurgen Klopp has signed a three-year contract to be the new Liverpool manager.
The German replaces Northern Irishman Brendan Rodgers as boss of the Premier League giants and will get a salary of £4m a year. Rodgers was sacked last weekend following the 1-1 draw with same-city rivals Everton.
Rodgers had been Liverpool manager since 2012 and, in season 2013-14, almost guided the club to their first league title since 1990 but they ended up finishing second behind Manchester City.

Jurgen Klopp is expected on Merseyside on Thursday afternoon as Liverpool wrap up his appointment as their new manager.
The former Borussia Dortmund boss has been in talks with Liverpool's hierarchy - they have been led by Fenway Sports Group president Mike Gordon and Chief Executive Ian Ayre - and discussions are almost complete.
Klopp has agreed a deal of at least three years and he can expect to be paid a salary of more than £4million per season.
The German is flying in to Merseyside on a private jet to complete formalities ahead of an official announcement on Thursday afternoon.

Klopp is excited about the prospect of trying to restore Liverpool's fortunes but there are still a number of finer points to be ironed out before he can be formally announced.
It is anticipated Klopp will bring his long-term trusted assistants Zelkjo Buvac and Peter Krawietz with him to Merseyside.
That scenario is all the more likely given that Sean O'Driscoll and Gary McAllister, the coaches Brendan Rodgers brought in during the summer, were relieved of their positions on Thursday.

O'Driscoll leaves Liverpool with immediate effect but a new position could yet be offered to McAllister, a popular figure with supporters. Pepijn Lijnders, however, is expected to stay on.
There is no indication as yet over whether Liverpool will be able to make a formal announcement on whether they have reached terms with Klopp but the situation remains fluid.
The 47-year-old, who won two Bundesliga titles with Dortmund, has long been the man FSG wanted to replace Rodgers, who was sacked on Sunday after the 1-1 draw with Everton, and they have pursued him aggressively in recent days.
The ambition has always been to use the international break as an opportunity to take stock and have a new manager in before next Saturday's trip to Tottenham.
Bar any late, unexpected twists, that will be the case.
