The series is tied one apiece. Games 1 and 2 were played in Russia. Games 3 and 4 will be played in Canada.

Game 3 is currently underway in Halifax with the Russians leading 3 to 2 at the end of the 1rst period.

I caught a few minutes of the first game, how has this one gone. There was some Russian kids that were making moves. Canadians seemed to be suffering penalty wise the bit I saw.

YES, Canada does have a team playing in this tournament. They have played 4 games so far and WON all 4. Too bad no one seemsto care. Both daily newspapers may have a bit of an article, but only mentioned 2 or 3 players. There are 20 young ladies on this team.
Team Canada has played 4 games so far and WON all 4!!! GO CANADA!!!

yeah, go canada go, they have always had a great team, and well worth watching and following, as
well as any hockey.

all of those juniors play in the canadian junior hockey, well, I assume all, maybe there are a few who
don't, not sure, so irrespective of where they come from, they are all in the same league, give or take.

Those great russian jrs. have learned in canada.

lol Yup, by those standards these kids are doing great. More power to them. Any standouts yet?

Stand-outs, well let's see...........both sides have a few. For the Canadians, my pick is Charles Hudon - draft pick of the Habs. This kid is all over the ice, always on the puck doing his best - great pick for Montreal. Sean Monahan of the Ottawa 67's and the youngest member of the team has two goals so far. Carolina Hurricane's draft pick, Ryan Murray had a goal and 3 assists in Game 3.

Nail Yakupov has proven that the Edmonton Oilers made a great pick in the draft - he scored a hat trick in Game 3. Russian goalie, Andrev Makarov was outstanding last night - much more solid in net than our won Laurent Brossoit who stepped up and took full responsibility for the loss though penalties against the Canadians did there fair share of damage.

Malcolm Subban will be back in goal for our team tonight.

For those of you wondering about the reasons for the tourney, it is being played as a tribute to the Kontinental Hockey League team Lolomotiv Yaroslavl. And, it is being used as an evaluation of players for the WJC for Canada.

Whomever you are cheering for, it was a great game - lots of action and lots of goals.

If Malcolm is solid in the net and if we can stay out of the penalty box, Canada has a good chance of tieing the series..........though even without a man advantage, the Russians have shown they can get the puck to the net as was seen with their short-handed goal last night.

The 4th and final game is being televised by TSN at 3:30 PM PST/ 6:30 PM EST.

GO, CANADA, GO! :canada:

Yesssssssssssssssss! We won!

1 to 0 in sudden death O.T.

ROCK ON CANADIAN JUNIORS! :canada:

Canada went into this game needing a win in regulation time to force sudden death. Had they lost in reg time, Russia would have taken the series. But our Juniors were primed and ready to play the 4th and deciding game of the Challenge.

Russia got an early lead in the 1rst on a PP goal but Canada answered back with one of their own and so the game went until the 2nd period when Canada, for the first time since game 1, got a one goal lead going into intermission 3 to 2.

With the 3rd period well underway, our Juniors got called for the strangest penalty I've ever heard - a face-off violation. The penalty even had the game announcers in a tizzy and the crowd in an uproar. If anything it totally energized our team who took it to the Russians in their zone, short-handed and had their best PK of the series.

Jon Huberdeau added a goal with 5:08 left in the game and Canada never looked back. Ryan Strome got the winning goal around the 17 minute mark of O.T. and Canada took the series.

All the goals scored in the game were PP goals either by the Canucks or the Russians. Canada was over 70% on face-off wins.

Malcolm Subban wasn't that busy as Canada far out-shot Team Russia but he stepped up big to keep Canada in the game on a few occasions.

Nail Yakupov was effectively corralled by the Canadian defenders and had just two solid chances to score both of which Subban took away from him.

Look to hear the name of Ty Rattie more in the future.........this kid is hot and he plays excellent hockey. He had 3 goals in 3 games and finished this night with 2 goals and an assist.

Names of note for the Juniors besides those already mentioned were; Charles Hudan, Sean Monahan, Ryan Murphy, Morgan Reilly, Mark Scheifele, and Doug Hamilton.

It was a great series by both teams and the Russians were just as good if not better than our guys at times.
