Most of those professing to believe in a god shape that god according to what they need...and then ascribe various attributes, rules and regulations to their particular worship
Want a kind and gentle god...invent him.
Want a stern,severe god..invent him (or her,I suppose).

There is exactly one God. He is The Father, the Son, and the Holy Ghost. It's called the Trinity. Also, i believe God exists in each and every one of us. Its called your conscience.

Thats the privilege you have been granted.

God is found in different ways to different people, yet God is the same to every one in that He granted us the privilege to believe as we like, or rather be our own god, and yet be allowed to exist as a god in His realm without penalty of udder extinction.

We don't exist just because. If this was all to this existence and nothing else after this, why not live to abuse everything in our favor? Why try to be good as if good was something normal and for what purpose or goal?

Make allot of money for what to give it all to the next generation?

No, there is a purpose to this life of which good is the object to be learned.

Within good comes a heart that has compassion, kindness, patience, long suffering, slow to anger, joy, peace and brotherly love.

If you can do all those things claiming not to believe in God, then you have just demonstrated being in His image.

Brilliant summation.
And brilliantly succinct.

I don't understand why people ask questions when they've clearly stated their disdain for the answer. Isn't that the essential definition of forum trolling? Bringing the same topic up, over and over and over just so you can swipe at anyone who rises to the discussion?

Maybe it's hoping, with repetitive prompting, that folks will come to see reality.

trust me when I tell you that your brand of prompting does nothing but reinforce a person's desire to remain with their faith. It's been my experience that mocking, patronizing, and generally chastising people for their view is the best way to ensure they keep it. This applies to nearly all arguments on the internet.

Reality can be a nasty, fantasy- killing path for religionists.

Hope you're up to it.

What reality? Your reality? Honestly, what makes you so sure that your reality is what everyone else should, or feel the need to, follow?

For ever action there is a reaction karrie. I have no problem with mrgrumpy's questions, because it gives me an opportunity to promote my views as does his.

It also gives folks who become interested in the subject to see both sides and let them decide for themselves what they want to believe.

My hope in all this, is to present a message that demeans no one's views, but presents a message of hope, comfort in light of an evil world.

Actually for me, it's really simple...The # of Gods I believe in really depends on the # of voices I hear in my head! LOL!

Now sometimes, there can be two voices going at each other. Dual personality which probably represents the dual nature of God, via nature, as in the yin and the yang as well as the paradoxes associated with such duality.

Then sometimes there's this one lone voice....Yeah, the lone ranger and he epitomises the nature of God being as all-knowing, encompassing Christian god of ONE but One is such a lonely number, so at other times suddenly there are thousands of voices in my head and then God becomes this omniscient, omnipresent Hindu god, with thousands incarnations or avatars.

Haha!

The god of this world yes, for everything you do with the dollar is dependent on your heart.

Where your treasure is................is where your heart is:
Luk 12:34 For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.

Are you sure you want that for a god?
