Airports were closed. Highways were closed. Floods occurred in the streets, roofs of some houses were removed by the wind. They estimated the harm by many billion of dollars. In addition, there was the fear, and there was the ambiguity that none knows the final consequences.
Moreover, I took it an opportunity to remind people and admonish them to pray to God alone without associate to be saved and to advise them to be just and do not agree with the wrong-doing and transgression.
In addition, people at the time of disasters are more prone to turn to God Most Gracious and forget about their enthusiasm and blasphemy.
And you said you are an American, and I don't think you are in the region of this hurricane; so if this was true, then we would have seen you as a feather-less bird by now, or at least you have been evacuated with the rest of people in the dangerous areas.

From time to time, we do see French creep into the Threads, and whatever the heck
-- posts in whatever language that is, but the one I watch out for, that is almost
always spam (& porn spam, and really nasty stuff at that) is the Cyrillic stuff (the backwards
"R's" and such....with links involving animals and children). That's the stuff I zap A.S.A.P.
