A suspected big cat poacher has been eaten by lions near the Kruger National Park in South Africa, police say.
The animals left little behind, but some body parts were found over the weekend at a game park near Hoedspruit.
"It seems the victim was poaching in the game park when he was attacked and killed by lions," Limpopo police spokesman Moatshe Ngoepe told AFP.
"They ate his body, nearly all of it, and just left his head and some remains."
Police have not yet established the victim's identity. A loaded hunting rifle and ammunition were found next to the body, South African website Eyewitness News reports.
Lion poaching has been on the rise in Limpopo province in recent years.

What a bitter, old man. I suggest that if you feel that way, as a human, you should give yourself up to a lion. Do your part to equalize what you see as unfair, or an imbalance. But since you are not close to Africa, might I suggest seeking out a grizzly bear?

Do your part to undo the wrongs, Cliffy.

All Good, but you should really criticize the countries that allow the sale or ownership of such things.
If there is no demand for such things no poachers would exist.

Lions Who Killed Poacher Claim He Was Armed

A pack of lions were being demonized on social media today for killing a man, until a new twist emerged which changed everything.
“He had a firearm.”
The lions, speaking through their attorney, announced they will assert self-defense if prosecuted, as they had a reasonable expectation that their lives were in danger.
“If we hadn’t acted decisively, we might not be here now.”
Their case is reportedly strengthened by corroborating evidence from a witness.
“We have an antelope who says she saw everything.”
More tricky for the lions’ defense team will be explaining why they ate the man afterwards.
“We’ll cross that bridge when we come to it.”
